Back in the days when dinosaurs roamed the planet & I worked in newsrooms, the excuse was time. Only 45 mins, at best, in the daily 1-hour newscast. With 24/7 airtime, there are no more excuses. Only choices. Less banter/infotainment & more NEWS coverage might actual make a better informed public.
