Ossoff: "You just heard Mike Collins say the tariffs are working. Go buy groceries. Nobody in the state seriously believes these tariffs are working. It's been a disaster."

The question is who is defining "working." The tariffs are impoverishing millions of Americans. Mike considers this "working." Millions of Americans consider it NOT working.

Collins just failed to say who the tariffs are working for. They are giving Trump more money to run his secret police with.

The tariffs are working to do what? What were they supposed to do? They are not bringing jobs back to the U.S. They are not increasing domestic industrial investment. They just increase prices for Americans and levy a tax that falls disproportionately on the poor and working class.

Factory jobs go unfilled because they are physically demanding with lots of standing all day and repetitive motion. Also, factories are loud so you can't really talk to anyone and the jobs are boring.

I love this timeline. The GOP spent the last two years TERRORIZING Americans financially and emotionally and they have NOTHING to run on. Obviously this is like shooting fish in a barrel if you're a Democrat.

Besides consumer costs, they aren't working to even reduce the trade deficit. Of course that's not necessarily a bad thing, as trade deficits are both good and bad depending on economic context; the nuances of which dummies like T & his goons can't comprehend. bsky.app/profile/ronf...

I thought Trump’s tariffs were specifically designed to dramatically reduce this number to zero.

How out of touch does one have to be to still be defending Trump’s tariff policy which is currently seen as a huge failure by people on all sides of the political spectrum??

The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis reported that the U.S. goods and services trade deficit widened by 13.7% in August 2026 to reach $105.6 billion, the largest monthly gap since March 2025.
