The Milwaukee Brewers are what my Twins aspire to be. That series isn’t over but David has Goliath on the ground.

Every small-market franchise should look to them for the blueprint. Bob Castellini, big man atop my beloved trashball Reds, reportedly asked his front office team over the summer, “Why aren’t we the Brewers?” Things in Cincinnati are in the dumpster, so I don’t expect Bob & Co. to do their homework.

KC baseball fan here. I’m so excited to see a small market team leading the way . . . first pitch-one swing-Home Run-3 games and 3 wins in the series. Be still my heart!

David has been the best team in the NL this year. I saw them beat the O’s in September at Camden Yard and it was a lot like this. Great defense. Stealing basis followed by singles for RBIs. Timely power. Gutty pitching. Just better and, in the end, ahead. They are for real.

Your Twins, my Mariners. Our family adopted the Brewers sometime in August, when it finally became clear that our usual team wasn't even capable of staying at the top of the very worst division in MLB. Next year! In the meantime, crush the Dodgers!

The Dodgers have too many cooks in the kitchen. They have more money than anyone and should spend like it but Tucker and Diaz have done next to nothing. Which is bizarre as Tucker was great in Houston.

The Dodgers went to the White House and schmoozed with 🍊. Holding true to the theory #ETTD, the Brewers will sweep in 4. You heard it here first.

The Twins were 40 years ahead of the Brewers. Look back at the late ‘80s/early ‘90s and the “Twins’ Way” built by Andy MacPhail. It was baseball’s model franchise for winning in a small market.

The Twins are closer than they appear in the mirror. The athleticism of Culpepper, Jenkins and Rodriguez are foreshadowing what's to come. Abel, Bradley and Rojas are equally as athletic and talented. Lackey has all the tools. I'm optimistic.

I can already see the narrative now that the owners are gonna put out there, “see the small market teams can win, we need a salary cap!” To be quite clear I have no issue with the salary cap premise. I have an issue with billionaire owners being the “good guys” in this upcoming lockout. Spare me.
