"Ignorance is costly." LOL. Axios and the rest of the oligarch-captured Zombie Fourth Estate assists in spreading ignorance because from their perspective it is wildly profitable. Nobody's fooled otherwise. The unjournalism industry is a huge reason why we're suffering this KKKristofacsist mess.

I bet we can all guess where the 1 live and where they received their education. Public education works, but only if you can get the R’s to fund it instead of their leaders’ pockets.

Alabama elected 2 senators who did not know the 3 branches of government, especially tuberville. Ignorance and stupidity elect ignorance and stupidity. Bible belt states are effectively destroying education so they can teach fearing gods and ten commandments, which they don't follow, trump rapist.

Legislative Branch: Congress, the Senate and the House of Representatives🙄 Executive Branch: President, Vice President and the Cabinet 😩 Judicial Branch: The Supreme Court and other federal courts😩

There’s a name for finding cause and effect where it really doesn’t exist… Found it - “apophenia” As in Ivy League education -> evil But it could be that if you’re smarter than average (like an Ivy League kid) you’re just more accomplished at being evil.

One of the nicest people I’ve know was a former migrant farm worker, poor as dirt, two teeth left, maybe 5’2”. Looked out for us high school kids working under an abusive boss.

Holy fk im Canadian and i know that but then we were taught all history not just American history which has been the downfall of American kids they don't know how the actual world works just the little American bubble they are in

Civics class. Democracy 101. We shouldn't issue people drivers licenses if they can't pass a 50 question test about the constitution and how America works. WE certainly shouldn't let people vote if they can't pass that test Ride a fucking bike

Used to be said, people getting their naturalization knew more about U.S. than people born here. Naturalized citizens are proud of their accomplishment. It means a great deal to them. Why not be thankful people who actually Love this country are being added??

27% are functionally illiterate and nearly 50% can’t read effectively above the 5th grade level. Vast numbers have never travelled outside their state or even town. They know little of their country let alone the world.

Er. You realise the story actually deals in percentages? 34% is more than one out of every three people in a population of 100 (1 in three would be 33%) but it would be a lot less than 2 (which, in percentages, would be 66-67%, depending on how you round the number).
