having to sign in to read articles is such a weird paradigm. I was interested to hear more but not THAT interested

I clicked on a link to buy a book. If the price was OK, I was going to buy it. First thing they wanted? My email. Forget it. Sale lost. Same with online news sites. Let me read text without harrassment, or go away.

If anyone wants to start a news distribution system where you can pay * quickly, * anonymously, * for individual articles from different sources, I'd be a customer. Pretty sure I'd pay more for news than I'm paying now.

I’m a subscriber to NTY and the Atlantic. I never have a sign in to read articles posted on social media apps. If you’re interested in reading articles, support the free press. It takes money to run news organizations.

The "subscribe to read 1 article" thing bothers me. I'm not gonna pay you for a year or a month for ONE article. Now, if you wanted to charge me $.99 for that article and then leave me TF alone, I'd be willing.

I am of the opinion that if you share an article, it should be made available to those you are sharing it with, without paying or subscribing. Tired of it. And don't wanna.
