ok! Super fun to riff with @hyl.st. Going to write something up on the forum, something really interesting to start testing @hyl.st is building Reams: Obsidian + @automerge.org is ready to go, including syncing back to markdown files on disk. atproto publishing on top is next, maybe @lichen.wiki

I am going to demo my journal editor to som (link below). The links get appended. We're talking about how Obsidian and Automerge and atproto could be best friends.

shout out to @gordon.bsky.social 's Italic too, which i re-stumbled into again two nights ago. really nice Obsidian wiki tools with very solid atproto publication. no automerge. bsky.app/profile/gord...

I think outliners are great, a very different “shape” than many markdown page gardens. I prompted a tool that interops with @ngerakines.me outliner @bulleted.app for practice Bulleted has embedding and transclusion - so cool in public & will get more interesting w/private spaces

btw I have a WIP generic atproto crdt lexicon set that should work with a variety of crdt semantics and offer cross-compatible reads at minimum between automerge and loro and yjs

oooo interesting! been a hot minute since i thought about remoras but i was looking at loro specifically for its tree-ability vs others. and generally interested in how a system could serve the needs of billet notes, markdown, and more notion-etc style notes. 😬

yeah that's the idea. format agnostic but a smart renderer can do useful things and a smart server can back multiple crdt-based atproto apps with live collaboration without having to know all the details of said document formats either.

Hey hey, awesome, your DMs seem off, but also happy to chat on signal if you're there: @hylst.73

I’m going to write up some notes and put them in the forum. Will tag you when I post. We have some ideas about not using the diff format but it’s very much a matter of preference. And also for MY garden, I treat it like a wiki not a Standard Site. Not sure who shares those preferences.

Here’s the write up - if you want to use @automerge.org + Obsidian, sign up for alpha with @hyl.st, and if you want to try interop-ing notes through the @lichen.wiki lexicon leave a comment

Ok here’s the big write up and my suggestion to practice using Interop through the @lichen.wiki lexicon - I have a feature request / question on how to accomplish some things! discourse.atmosphere.community/t/reams-obsi...
