I’d like to live in a country where a grandma doesn’t have to work as a Door Dash driver to pay for her husband’s cancer treatment

It wasn’t DoorDash was so expensive, it was the restaurants that were hurting. DoorDash saved some restaurants from going under. There are more restaurants using DoorDash now than a few years ago. I don’t know how much a restaurant has to pay to be included in the service.

That he can stand there and shake her hand and brag the he’s helping w the no tax on tips farce, is just another disgusting display that proves he is a complete narcissistic ignorant ass who literally does not care about anything but how much he can steal.

He doesn’t have the capability to even grasp that as a problem-and even if he could, he wouldn’t care, because his absolute lack of understanding about how real working people live is only surpassed by his complete lack of empathy or compassion. 🫤

I'd like to live in a country where said side-hustle grandma is voting for the same individual who is causing her to have to do all of the above.

I live in Canada, and am 19 months into my cancer journey. I’ve had surgery, chemotherapy, been hospitalized twice with complications, have Homecare nurses come X2 monthly for blood draws. Universal healthcare means I haven’t spent a dime, or I’d be living in a box somewhere.🇨🇦

The one where insurance companies donate heavily to candidates who oppose public healthcare. @governor.ny.gov is ending health insurance for 460k -including pregnant women- (and myself) even tho it costs 1% of NYS budget to fund it. She'll get kickbacks from insurers. www.lohud.com/story/news/p...

lohud.comNY gets OK to end health coverage for 460,000 due to federal cutsThe Trump administration has approved New York's request to undo a 2024 expansion of its Essential Plan health coverage for 1.7M low-income residents.

Me too! I’d also prefer to have a president who doesn’t leverage these made-up moments as market manipulation for companies like Door Dash and McD’s and-or exploit innocent gig workers about their position on trans athletes.

Better still: A country where a grandma isn’t used in a grotesquely stupid stunt by the stupidest person to ever occupy the White House. Door Dash from Arkansas, suuuure.

Americans can live like that; moving to Canada is probably easiest. Any European country would also work; culturally great but work permit needed, and possibly language skills.

Non-flippant follow-up: I’m sure that it would be politically and culturally impossible for Meidastouch to be headquartered outside the US, but operationally Toronto or Vancouver are no harder that any US city. Knowledge workers have so much flexibility

I know - I have several older individuals bringing deliveries to my house and I think the same thing. If it’s that they just wanna work that’s one thing but if they’re forced to work just for healthcare or food, etc. that is not acceptable.

A gig worker forced to deliver Trump fast food to support her husband’s unaffordable cancer treatments is what he believes is success for the rest of us.

Be great to live in a country that doesn't deny its citizens the research for cures for cancer, as they had in the past. trump's world - all for me, nothing for thee . . .

It's still not enough, she's out here shilling for Door Dash, and a tax cut that won't make much if any difference for any one. Wow, you saved $100 in taxes, good luck with the cancer treatment, I'm sure that'll pay for it. No matter who they vote for, I just want them to get all the care they need.

Or bag groceries at the local supermarket to make ends meet. SO many of the baggers at my grocery store are elderly & many seem like they are struggling to do the job.

Medicare only covers 80% of your bill, unless you have a Medicare Gap plan. Then, your Medicare Gap plan will pay the additional 20%. It’s not cheap. Medicare is around $180 a month. The gap policy is over $200 a month. So, you are looking at $400 per month for full coverage.

I am currently fighting cancer for a second time. I know how others feel. Supposed to start radiation treatments soon, but I don’t think I will be able to. I already had my electricity cut off because I couldn’t afford it. Was using a generator, but now I can’t afford the gas. I’m on disability.

Yeah every time I see a new GoFundMe for healthcare provided free in most countries ...Because America is a series of extortion rackets and scams and a big weapons industry where medical bankruptcy is apparently acceptable I think "Are we Great yet?" Trump has weakened America Abandoned his own

You could always migrate to Oz, take up citizenship, contribute economically & enjoy the benefits of our Medicare system, it’s pretty damn brilliant. I’d make the move now before our own right wing Trumpian Liberal/National/OneNation coalition get a chance to fuck us up.

That requires solutions. When we concentrate on problems, rather than solutions all we are doing is having a bitch, piss and moan session. I personally would like to see all of us concentrate on solutions. Complaining is satisfying but doesn’t solve anything.

Me too, because Medicare Advantage finds a way to NOT PAY a huge portion of the costs for cancer treatment....but the people stopping Universal Healthcare???? are in Congress. All you have to do is say "socialism" and their brains shut down

Fox “News” bragged about her making $11,000 in tax free tips. That certainly isn’t enough to pay for cancer treatments. My husband died from lung cancer. Each one of his treatments was around $70,000. When she left, I am certain the Fox “News” liars mocked her behind her back for being pathetic!

I would think most Fox viewers are in her age group and would immediately be aware of why she’s working, no health care, not enough $ to survive and have empathy for her, not throw tip money in her face like she should be grateful. I’m so disgusted by this regime

Me too, but I’m too old and too poor to move to another country where they use tax dollars to provide healthcare not invade and bomb other countries.

A year ago, I encountered a female cashier at Tractor Supply. She had to be @least 75. Said she had a disabled ungrateful husband & that she must go home & prepare his meal(daily). She worked cause she had to. We have POTUS sitting on his 🫏 daily succoring meals @ our expense & watching TV 24/7.

When we drove the west Coast (2019) from Canada, we were shocked by the number of elderly people still working at Truck stops and the like. Many looked like they had health issues, and certainly dental issues. We have seniors still needing or choosing to work in Canada..but not to the same extent.

It amazes me how few Soviet citizens choose to leave the USSR due to being propagandised to believe in its greatness… Sorry (autocorrect error) - fixed below: It amazes me how few US citizens choose to leave the USA due to being propagandised to believe in its greatness…

That sounds like communism to me. Jesus said very clearly- “Heal the sick, you received without paying? But even a co-pay, and now thou shall have thy credit ruined and slowly die from treatable Illnesses, no one told you to major in the humanities” (This is sarcasm)

You know how much treatment will cost me if I get cancer? Not a goddamn cent You know what my husbands heart medication costs? The one that is over $2000/mo in the states? €3 copay Americans have been fed the lie of scarcity for so long, that they actually believe it’s real instead of invented

Grandma is in shock about the diagnoses for her husband. She doesn't realize that the billionaire class has robbed most Americans of government funded health care. Now she has medical debt with financial insecurity plus an ill spouse.

I mean, apart from how blatantly fake that was, why don't you model your country that way? All of you together? You don't even have to risk anything, dozens of other countries have tested it for decades.

What do you have against trickle down economics? You lower the tax burden on billionaires, and you’ll a big fat tip! And a 7k$ increase of per capita national debt since he took office as 47th.

When you interview politicians. Here are a few questions to real ask. How are you going to improve education? How are you going to improve the patients to Doctors ratios? How are you going to raise wages? How are you going to bring down housing cost. How are you going to bring down overall cost.

I agree. Tramp's policies didn't enable her to pay for cancer treatments. If anything, his policies are what caused her to have to pay out of pocket for treatments.

Id like to live in a free world where the POTUS isn't a fucking lunatic- and hopefully the people of the US have enough fuckimg sense to see an orange deranged lunatic pedo when they see one.
