I see Farage's recent campaign has done nothing, and that's right across all tonight's elections, by-election and council. Be interesting how the Psephologists view this. Is it simple disaffection, or concerted tactical voting?

As a person opposed to all that Farage/Reform stand for. We need to encourage both. Continue to encourage disaffection by exposing Farage's hypocrisy and dubious finances. Be prepared to vote tactically. Doing so, specifically against Reform/Farage, will ensure responsible governance.

Greens seemed so confident at the start of the campaign & then I noticed their Twitter comms were quieter. Didn't have the same energy as Gorton and Denton at all. It's a huge swing but it's a small const. full of students & Muslim voters so I'm surprised it's not come down to a few hundred votes

The low turnout is a problem. If @andyburnham.bsky.social has the courage to push through electoral reform it needs to happen before the next election and include mandatory voting as in Australia. When “None of the above” tops the polls it might wake some of our political parties up.

Sure but you aren’t a major party, that ship has sailed. You’re a minor coalition partner even if Burnham stacks it.

No such thing as a ‘safe seat’ these days for sure, but this still isn’t suddenly a marginal. The drop in Reform, presumably largely to the benefit of Restore, should be keeping Farage up at nights. Marvellous.

Also conceivable that recent events have woken some people to the reality that the Greens aren't the nice, safe protest vote everyone seemed to think they were and have instead been taken away from real Greens like Caroline Lucas, put in the hands of some real nutters and it's all downhill from here

On a much lower turnout than the general election, Zack Polanski doubles the number of voters voting Green and cuts the Labour majority to 3,300. In 2017 Labour's majority here was over 30,000. Whoever the Green Party candidate is here next time, they have a real chance of winning this seat.
