very tired of pretending that dismissing modern economics is somehow more reasonable than dismissing vaccines. if you’re not an expert, you don’t get to pick and choose parts of a field to believe! you have no way to tell between legitimate and illegitimate results in that field!

Stick to programming

programmers are the most pseudo intellectuals on the planet. being really good at writing code doesn't make that person good at literally anything else.

None of these idiots are particularly good at writing code. Also writing code is a very easy thing to do. They’re all gonna have a tantrum in my mentions for saying this, but my credentials are better than theirs.

lol this true. It’s not hard, but is often time-consuming, and to some the latter is a subset of the former.

software development isn't the most difficult thing in the world but it isn't easy either. it very much depends on the complexity of the software and how well that software needs to perform at scale.

It actually is easy, at least relative to comparable roles in STEM. As an example, getting a computer science degree is less difficult/rigorous than getting almost any other STEM degree at every level from bachelors to PhD.

I feel like easy-difficult flattens it, but can’t explain how.
