anti-intellectualism is good when the left does it and bad when the right does it, you see

holy moly @hausofdecline.bsky.social in @inthesetimes.com ???

also probably unintentional but “weird monied elite with strange facial features doesn’t care about the Real Common People (you know, us)” is a reactionary cliche

very tired of pretending that dismissing modern economics is somehow more reasonable than dismissing vaccines. if you’re not an expert, you don’t get to pick and choose parts of a field to believe! you have no way to tell between legitimate and illegitimate results in that field!

software development isn't the most difficult thing in the world but it isn't easy either. it very much depends on the complexity of the software and how well that software needs to perform at scale.

It’s orthogonal to disability/unequal ability, which I’m firmly of the opinion is the subject we (subjects of modern class society) are least well-equipped to discuss or think about.

i guess if we are comparing it to other stem fields then maybe? idk i rarely think about it in those terms. but if we are comparing software developers to accountants for instance? i think that software development is much more difficult. or basically any business degree lol

Indeed, and lowering the barrier to entry is a good thing. That it comes at the price of a qualitative escalation in class society’s access to your personhood is merely an escalation of the struggle, which I welcome. We’re going to win, there’s nothing to be afraid of except complacency.
