It is unbelievable that we are still a species who can't see past our cultural differences. We are all human beings deserving of life sustenance, acceptance, love, & the basic understanding that although we have differences, we share our humanity. We should work together foe the betterment of all.

I’ve grown to realize that there really are “good” and “bad” people in this world.. somehow the “Bad” have become louder and cruder and meaner more abusive and braver, whilst the “good” have grown quieter meeker and more protective. Goods gotta stand the hell up and realize we’re the majority!

Pope Leo, you will never get me into a church. But for the first time in my life, I listen to what a pope is saying and I agree and respect you. It may not sound much, but I’m sure there are many who feel the same way as me. Keep doing what you’re doing.

It would be so powerful for him to speak in English, in a voice the MAGA would be familiar with and understand. The translation from Italian doesn’t have the same effect. Is there a history or tradition that compels Italian? Because English is the voice that needs to be hear right now.

I mean, there’s some historical importance to have an American pope, at the point of history. It’s exactly what the worlds needs to help Americans find their moral core again. And the benefit of an American pope is neutered by his insistence on Italian:

He speaks in Italian because he is the Bishop of Rome. Him being American doesn't change that. Pope Francis was Spanish, but mainly spoke in Italian. Also, it is not all about the US. Other countries do exist.

One problem here is that of describing a child as a 'muslim child'. The child wasn't born a muslim he was taught that that is what he/she 'is'. The child is no more a muslim than they are a Keynesian, a post-modernist or a libertarian.

I hear you there. I would suggest saying something like: "A child raised within the Islamic faith" or the like if he wanted to get that stronger point across. We need to start dismantling these religious dogmas, one of which is that children 'have' a religion.

CanukBison, still getting news but in other countries. Last I heard there was a new buffer zone which basically takes 70% of the land & pushes everyone into the remaining 30%. Two more journalists were killed.
