Sideburns probably didn’t help

Roids

This is one of my favorite MLB stats.

Don’t follow baseball, but didn’t this guy get a mention on Seinfeld re a grassy knoll incident ?

That happened because he shaved those sideburns only one year

That's the one with Tony Hawk in it. I bet he was so inspired by all the shredding going on in '87 that he just had to live up to it

It's almost as if the ball was juiced and we should all calm down about stats from 1987.

Grand slams are funny that way. Derek Jeter once joked that he had one grand slam in his entire career and Shane Spencer had three in one month as a late season call-up.

If your have to be something be consistent.

When you’re hot, you’re hot

pretty sure this caused black monday somehow

Damn min-maxers

Source?

I always love that stat!

Bizarre.

Incredible stat

Anyone see this and hear "Talking Softball" from The Simpsons?

Interesting 🤔

It’s the year he trimmed those sideburns.

That’s wild

He shaved his sideburns off in 1987

Such an odd stat run. I remember the baseball card too.

Great stats.

Look at those sideburns!

Donny Baseball!!

What? That's crazy.

And yet, what is he most remembered for?

That's awesome 😎

Great Stat.

I need to see a graph to understand this

Must have been the sideburns

Crazy stat.

Cut those sideburns, hippie!

What??!

The "Hit Man" ⚾

That’s insane

One of the craziest stats ever

He got into a zone.

God, how Mr. Burns hated his mustache.

Baseball is weird

Crazy stat... Loved his swing

Ecstasy was made illegal in ‘87 👀

My all time favorite Donnie baseball

Montey on Mattingly

A real rabbit ball year, (‘87) Wade Boggs w/24 dingers, Cory Snyder had his best power year. The first year I had a fantasy team, the “Calvin Griffiths” came up light in hits, saves and ERA.

Overrated

#cardsky

Same year he set the mark for most consecutive games with a Homer. What a player!!

Juice.

You can juice for a single season and then decide to stop.

Still apart of the greatest softball song ever. Still needs to shave those sideburns.

Was that the year Mr.Burns asked him to shave his sideburns?

looks like alisson becker

Juice?

Baseball trivia rules! More please.

Amazing stat!

What the hell is up with those sideburns?

This kind of tweet makes me thirst for a bookmark function

Probably would have had more if just shaved those sideburns

The year of Pags, Mags, and Rags. I had the poster on my wall.

R. Henderson, Randolph, Mattingly, D Winfield seemed to be the common lineup. Was one of 2 seasons Randolph batted above .300

Ha! K that's an amazing stat.

I thought my beloved cricket had some weird stats, but baseball is just different level.

87 was a good year

record equalled by Travis Hafner in 2006

Was 1987 the year that Burns made him shave those sideburns?

That’s crazy!

Donnie Baseball..... loved him as Marlin manager.
