AI geniunely democratizes the creation of art. This is mostly bad, because the average person has terrible taste.
this lady on threads posted this big huge thing about how artists are just jealous that everyday people can now use AI to create better art that gets more attention so i click through to see her “art”… i wish there was an unveil feature here:

So both Ulysses S Grant and Harry S Truman have the same middle initial that stands for nothing.
My favorite Ulysses Grant fact is that he was born Hiram Ulysses Grant but hated that his initials spelled "HUG" so he applied to West Point as "Ulysses Hiram Grant" but his sponsor accidentally put "Ulysses S. Grant" and then the Army said "your paperwork says Ulysses S. Grant so that's your name".

the kind of person who posts here is very likely to have over-learned 'the personal is the political' in a way that make them interpret 'I don't think this empirical claim about society you are making is true' as 'I am invalidating your personal experiences', like that's just it in it's entirety
Matt Darling pushes a lot of Stancil buttons--in that I like them both and find them infuriating enough to follow either of them--but "are there numbers to back up this claim?" is a powerful question that should not be reacted to in as hostile a manner as people frequently do

Remember when leftists wanted Graham Platner to go on Tucker Carlson to appeal to the Volk of Maine?
Hasan Piker and Ryan Grim are now openly encouraging #MESEN presumptive Democratic nominee Graham Platner, who was Grim's bartender at the Tune Inn on Capitol Hill and had a Totenkopf tattoo until last year, to meet with Tucker Carlson, who has platformed numerous Nazi apologists over his career
It's a good thing that Tim Walz is making those demands, I agree with those demands. You're literally doing the exact thing I just described. You're taking a Democrat saying something you agree with, on an issue that Democrats are better on, and using this to criticize "Democrats". Just baffling.
bsky.app/profile/roma... Why is Walz demanding Democrats not give up on Trans rights? Are those Democrats objectively superior in abandoning trans rights? "Then profit." Excuse me while I piss myself laughing. Where my money at? Where's the profit?

In my lib propaganda empire I'm greenlighting like 7 cop shows about Internal Affairs constantly going after loose cannons.
The median voter thinks asshole = good at war and economy and the more asshole you are, the gooder at war and economy you are. Therefore, Trump being the King Asshole means we'll all be rich and nobody will fuck with us again.

Name your fav music video.
Everyone's talking about the Hasan angle here, but the most insane part of this is when Jia says that the murder of Brian Thompson was "an effective act of political consciousness raising", and that she's disappointed the Democrats didn't use it to push for universal healthcare.

The implicit media consensus is that urban voters should not be able to overrule rural voters, but that rural voters should be able to overrule urban voters, an assumption so axiomatic and unquestionable that nobody even understands they're making it.
So much false equivalence in media on gerrymandering in Texas vs California & Virginia. California and Virginia maps approved by the voters. That's a huge difference not enough people pointing out

Pawn shop guitars can be had for around $50, and they can help your kid express themselves and make friends. They also learn how to care for and maintain a tool, that is something tangible, that has value. It can inspire them to work towards something better in themselves and in their hands. 🙂🎶🤘

Begrudgingly gotta hand it to the zoomers on this one. Can someone give me Legolas with the broccoli haircut?
making fun of losers who are still into Harry Potter actually seems to be working to some extent, and we should keep doing it Gen Z and Gen Alpha members are our strongest soldiers when it comes to calling out Harry Potter as irredeemably cringe millennial adult-baby slop
