Flock cameras: because apparently some cops needed taxpayer-funded stalking tools. They need to go!

What? Predatory, hate-filled misogyny masquerading as supposedly helpful technology? Who could ever have envisioned that such a thing could happen? Hang on. Let me turn the Sarcasmatron down. Had it set on "11."

This flock story looks like a polite tea party in comparison to what: NYPD gets paid on the side to do in RENT STABILIZED and especially Rent Control Apartment that goes Coop. Empty units to raise rent for landlords is very lucrative

You know it's AI that made that photo, not because the cop being arrested is still wearing his gun, but because a black cop is shown cuffing a white cop. No way the police union and leadership would let that happen or be shown.

But blame the cameras and flock founders instead of the police/ICE who are abusing the technology. And Flock isn’t the only one making that type of camera. Anyone protesting/threatening the lives of people at Motorola, Axon, etc?

And when we know studies of US police officers have historically found self-reported domestic violence rates as high as 40%, it’s pretty safe to assume the rot in modern day has spread far more. Not the kind of people who should have access to infrastructure capable of stalking people.

I personally blame the system we have created for policing in, the rewards, incentives, and responsibilities are set to me set wrong to do anything but remove people, and do nothing to help criminal and or officers stifle the reason for the crime. It is an incomplete loop.

We need Flock cameras. Hear me out, we need to use them as honey traps to quickly identify and eliminate bad cops. Let them think they are smart, tricky bastards (or bitches) and use their access logs to fire them ASAP.

This is an pandemic level problem!

Observation: Here’s why so many women are scared of men—& why genuinely decent men now have a harder time approaching them. When someone can use a police database to track down a woman from her license plate & get little more than a slap on the wrist, distrust becomes self-defense.

And you definitely don't want to use a high-powered 532nm green laser, because it can permanently burn and disable digital camera CMOS or CCD sensors. Green light is absorbed at a very high efficiency by these electronic sensors, meaning concentrated beams easily melt or overload the pixel array.

50 cops! Whenever incels get themselves worked up about women preferring to come across a bear in the woods rather than a strange man I find the lack of self awareness astounding!

Why would it be a lack of self-awareness to be upset about being called worse than a wild animal? If you're not a fucking creepo like these bastard cops that is. But a random guy hiking in the woods probably isn't going to be a creepo

So I did a search, and Temescal Valley/ Corona, CA ..where I live, has 60 flock cameras, had no idea. 30 other localities have suspended their contracts but not ours. Have check and see if there is a local community group opposing it.

What about the robot food delivery and driverless car services? They all have cameras rolling through our neighborhoods spying 24/7. You don’t think the gov’t has made a deal to have access to all those?

Anything that moves as closer to Orwell‘s 1984 is a mistake & must be ruthlessly opposed. + remember that 1/3 of all cops r basically ice agents. They’re ignorant, they’re racist and constantly on the make. They become cops to feel important because of their guns & to get women w their uniforms.

Not at all surprising that a profession that attracts power hungry, control freak abusive men uses all available means to conduct surveillance and control of their victims on the job as well as at home

We must reform our approach to policing. No quotas, no for-profit prisons, longer and better training. Background checks. Strict rules for union discharge upon misconduct. Dial back qualified immunity. Reduce police budget to demilitarize. Invest all that money in the community instead.

Will they be convicted of any crime? Losing your job as a cop means just going to a neighboring precinct and getting hired there. This is punishment?

Heinlein was right when he wrote that punishment for abusing authority should be proportional to the level of authority. This sort of thing has been inevitable since the NSA agent who used Prism to stalk his ex was permitted to just resign instead of prosecuted and blacklisted.

Since the so-called Patriot Act took a wrecking ball to the 4th and 5th amendments, there's never been real oversight or affirmation of due process. If such things are allowed to exist, there needs to be serious consequences for abusing it.

Always the kids in high school that weren’t very smart and weren’t very athletic and received a beat-down most every day. After graduation they’d inevitably start going to a gym and abusing steroids. Law enforcement was the inevitable next step, then, “revenge.” They’re mostly all defective humans.

A bunch of cops don't lose their jobs for actually killing people... But make a corporation look bad by exposing how dangerous its technology is? You're gone

I thought mass surveillance in that scale is only for dictatorships... oh yea the Trump Regime is working on turning the US into a Nazi Dictatorship... i forgot. I hope that Voters will turn up in Masses this November and try to avoid mail in ballots to not give him a chance to mess up anything! gl

And people wonder why these cameras are getting vandalized all over the country? I cannot walk most places around my home without being captured on one of these damned things.

But you see, this is what should happen. The real issues of Flock and other services are related to oversight and data protection, and not at all with the idea. Simply put, you hate the until they catch the guys who stole your car or broke into your house.

Winter prep tip: In Minnesota, we use spray cans of under coating to prevent ice from causing damage. Don't get it get on glass or glass lenses as it blackens them and is difficult to remove. Careful spraying as it can shoot 10 feet. As always, wear a mask 😷, glasses 😎, and gloves. Safety first.

❤️ your “The More You Know” civics lesson! Also, Raw egg whites can damage veh paint because they are alkaline and protein-rich, this allows them to etch into and chem bind with the clear coat. Left in the sun, the proteins bake, harden, + shrink, potentially pulling or cracking the clear coat layer.

It's unfortunate, but women do not respect police because they are a proven threat to us. We don't feel safe when they're around. The ones here don't obey traffic rules.

Long before Flock cameras I drove by a speed trap every day on my way to work. One day the cop pulled me over, even though I was well below the speed limit. He stopped me to ask me to dinner! They’ve been doing this shit for decades!

Yes, I started being pulled over by police and CHP when I was 16 and was NOT speeding or “screeching” my tires, ruining a light ext., what was happening was I as being asked out or harassed. I started driving with my hair tucked up in a ball cap and sunglasses. 😎 caught one watching my house.

We just had an officer arrested this weekin Florida for that very thing. He had been tracking somebody over 300 times. I can’t remember if it was in Hillsborough or Pasco County that it happened, but it was right in this area.

This was a subject on John Oliver's show a couple of weeks ago. Will they be hired in another jurisdiction as has happened in the past?

Did they actually lose their jobs or did they just get reassigned to another department or precinct? Cops are notorious for "punishing" personnel by moving them to a different location where they can start over again (and continue doing crime).

Before Flock we heard horror stories of cops using just regular patrol methods to harass women. Flock has allowed them to crank it to 11 and tear off the knob.

Texas is the home the oppressed and the spineless: Texas man arrested in his home by police using flock surveillance 1 day after holding a protest sign

The man held a protest sign up and they did this to him? Those goons are suppose to serve and protect the community not point a gun, shoot, and ask questions later. They need to provide clear communication about why they are breaking into someone’s home. Sue their traitor asses up and down town.👹

Now imagine how much worse this will get with AI being able to create realistic videos of anyone supposedly committing a crime when they want to come after them for any reason. They'll falsely accuse you of a crime, create a fake AI video of you committing this crime and then storm your house.

This isn’t a surprise My retired cop father use the system to track me for 20 years Every piece of technology available , they gave him access to It became kind of a weird hobby for him

Once you’ve in the cop club, corrections, parole, meter maid, they just generally just “ help” them out without hesitation It’s not cool And try to convince a District Attorney to prosecute them if they are caught!! Hardly ever happens in terms of the volume of abuse.
