There’s still leverage on the ones who aren’t retiring. Beat ‘em up. Tell the 28’s & 30’s that when the Dems retake the Senate, they can kiss any committee assignments goodbye. Lame ducks all.

The Dem’s #1 job was to hold the line. People saw the cost of food, housing & health care rising under Trump. They saw unjust deportations & violent ICE agents. They saw Trump, the most corrupt president in history, shut down the govt & choose to starve people. Schumer surrendered for NOTHING.

The Dems were never going to win this one. Big chunks of the GOP caucus actually likes having the gov shutdown. It was like the Dems were pointing a gun to their own heads and threatening to shoot. They didn't have any leverage - you only have leverage if the other side is afraid of losing something
