KILMEADE: Schumer says he's voting no. Did you do this outside leadership? SHAHEEN: No. We kept leadership informed throughout.

Of course they knew it was happening. The Democratic party at the national level is enabling Donald Trump. Full Stop. They vote for their appointments. They generally allow the calendar to run at the R pace. They don't call out the illegality. They don't stand up and fight. They are in on it.

"Keeping leadership informed" doesn't mean having approval of leadership. It is shocking that the Senator is using such a language... Schumer voted against it and was shouting & angered during his floor speech before the vote. Clearly, he was not OK with how the vote was going to go.

Dems caving gave validity to the falsehood that the shutdown was their fault. The house, senate, courts, & presidency are all under Republican leadership. Democrats took part in absolving the horrid practices of the GOP- starvation, job loss, tariffs, unsafe travel, healthcare destruction, & more.

Schumer picked the 8 to do this. Some are retiring and not worried about voter backlash. All are corporate funded. This shit will continue unless and until we kill Citizens United and get corporate and foreign money out.

The fact she showed up on Fox News the day after she made a catastrophic decision effecting her constituents in perhaps the worst way possible tells you all you need to know about her

Dems starved 40 million Americans just to win on Tuesday. If caving was always on the menu they could have caved in October and made it so millions weren't without food and pay. But if they had, they'd have lost the elections. So they let everyone suffer first. Then caved when it was safe.

“Kept leadership informed.” Say whatever you want about Mitch McConnell, man stood against everything I believe in, but he never came off weak. He would have never been undermined like this.

she should have added: And the leadership got 8 of us who do not fact elections in the next year to cave and give the GOP every damned thing they wanted.

Several have already announced retirements but I think some of them plan to run (e.g., Kaine, Cortez Masto, Rosen). They were chosen because they're not up for re-election until 2028 or 2030. They think voters will have forgotten by then. We won't.

Arranged it. "Okay, you 8 are safe or retiring; you vote yes, and the rest of us will be outraged and vote no." They must really think we're idiots. Maybe we're right, because we'll re-elect most of them. UNLESS THEY GET PRIMARIED.

I will not Vote Blue No Matter Who this next election. I will abstain from voting for any Democrat that is not aggressively and vocally willing to punch. If that is what it takes for Democratic leadership to finally switch, so be it. Only fighters. Only patriots that fight for our rights.

I totally understand, but still, there are more pragmatic options available. I have two dem senators (in CA) called them both to express sentiments similar to the QT. The REAL work needs to be done during primaries. Howard Zinn type shit though. Abstaining is passively enabling the bigger villains.

I'm on SSDI and need an organ transplant. If by "accelerating" you mean destroy the system to re-build it better, you're asking me to explain why being housed and alive is a bad idea.

You missed the part where I referenced the primaries being the real fight. During the general, it's essentially a binary choice. I did canvassing for Katie Porter, I still voted for Adam Schiff in the general.

Hey, if the Democrat is currently punching and fighting, then I've got no beef with them. If your idea of fighting and punching is a sternly worded letter and capitulation to the Republicans in the Senate, then I'm not voting for you.

So it's a calculated vote. Don't know how you could see this as anything but controlled opposition. They had Trump by the balls and could have honestly pressured Republican senators to do more but instead are giving them a bail out. Full betrayal of the American people by Senate Dems.

I wasn’t watching when this aired. - When she said “we kept leadership informed” was there the sound of a thunderclap and then the lights flickered at that moment? Because that would’ve been super appropriate.

They are not "Democrats." These are Libertarians. The people who gaze at the minute slice of tidy, curated world they can see through their clean windows, and declare, "All is well with this lovely land," had the unmitigated gall to dictate our suffering from atop their pile of PAC cash. Primaries.

TBF, Schumer voting no is probably has a parliamentarian perspective Only someone who votes contrarily to the majority can put forward a motion to reconsider. Turtle McConnel employed the same tactic a number of times while he was Majority Leader.

They are the problem. Every single of them. We need to not let them forget that we know who they are. It may be 3 years off but we get rid of every single one of them that signed on to this. 🤬🤬🤬

We knew this. This is the DNC, money protecting money. They hid in offices, never missing a meal or risking a damn thing. All they had to do was hold the damn line. We were out here with the risk, all they had to do was say no. At least MAGA looks us in the eye when trying to kill us.
