I needed three forms of ID to get an ID.me login for the IRS. Options are limited. One was a passport - your points on that are valid. But even worse - Who has anything with their whole entire SSN printed on it? If you don't have an unmolested SS card, you're SOL. Recent W2, nope. 1099, no. . .

Me too! My most recent one expired & I don't have travel plans. I don't have a need for one, or laying out the money. This is a poll tax & an attack on our agency.

Not everyone can get a US passport either. Even if youre a citizen. There are a number of reasons you can be denied a passport. All except being a former felon dont disqualify you from voting. Even some states you can vote as a former felon. So you could be disenfranchised due to an admin error.

How can you get a passport without a birth certificate or naturalization papers as proof of citizenship? Will you have to get a passport as proof of citizenship so you can get a passport? They'd have to make passports free, just as Ohio's identification card (a driverless driver's license) was/is.
