A different situation, but when the crowd laughed at GOP Rep. Andy Harris (MD) when he tried to "But Biden" in his debate it really rattled him.

Kevin M. Kruse@kevinmkruse.bsky.social

As someone noted last night, it's like a heckler trying to throw off a comedian. The person on stage has probably dealt with this challenge before and workshopped a withering response, plus the crowd is already on his side. It's not a wise challenge.

President Donald Trump pledged to send every American adult $5,000 if Republicans retain control of the House and Senate in the midterm elections. The promise, made at the GOP's midterm convention in Dallas, could cost over $1 trillion and would require congressional approval.

I think they got high on their "success" The world's ten richest men more than doubled their fortune during the first two years of pandemic. and the perceived attitude now is "I doubled my fortune in two years, who are you to tell me no."

I do think “every rich person went insane during covid because it was the first time they’ve been inconvenienced in decades” felt a little reductive at first but damn if isn’t more and more compelling as the years drag on

“If your actions create a legacy that inspires others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, then, you are an excellent leader.” Back in 2018, the attributed to its rightful source — Dolly Parton. www.dailykos.com/stories/2018...

The hype around The Draft! Sorry. It's a little difficult to tune out sometimes, they're trying really hard to make The Draft into an event for us NPCs - I don't care about your draft picks or your trades. I'm sure the players and their families care, but. . .

Turned on NBC. They talked about “President tipping a DoorDash driver $100”. This woman participated in GOP ads before playing other roles. There is no DoorDash deliveries to the Oval Office. Please exercise proper judgement when consuming news.

It's not always the worst when a song "goes commercial." 5yo wasn't the intended audience of The Dad commercial and Chicago wasn't the product, but Chicago has a new fan! He asked me to play the song several more times and then TT introduced him to several more Chicago tunes.

Seth Meyers. His closer look summaries of all the BS are the best! I don't know how, but sometimes I forget that.

Our story on President Trump, his aides and the crypto and UAE chips deals gets a humorous treatment on Seth Meyers, after John Lyons from Australian Broadcasting Corporation's Four Corners asked President Trump about our reporting on Tuesday. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HmK... @johnthelyonsden.bsky

Does Johnson know the FBI recruits “informants” by presenting criminals with evidence of their guilt before offering to let them off if they “turn” on bigger criminals in order to bring down their entire organizations Like, I know this because I watch TV

in which Mike Johnson claims that Donald Trump was an FBI informant to take down Epstein

So our military just bombed a boat in international waters and extrajudicially killed suspected drug traffickers without so much as a conversation, let alone a trial? Then posted it on social media? And we’re all supposed to just trust their account?

I wish Biden had just fired Trump appointees in independent federal agencies left and right. It would have forced the SCOTUS to address these issues with a Democratic president, and then those would have been precedents that would be more awkward for the Court to backtrack (w/o looking obvious)

It's been years since I've seen a South park episode! It was my option to pick a show last night, so I put this one on after seeing some post about it here. . . I didn't make TT watch, but she did and I believe her sole comment at the conclusion was "That was amazing." LOL

Here's another angle from Fox News reporter Bill Melugin of Sen. Alex Padilla getting roughed up by law enforcement after he tries to question Kristi Noem at her presser: “I’m Senator Alex Padilla. I have questions for the secretary. Because the fact of the matter is, a half dozen... Hands off!”

9/ The tariffs are DESIGNED to create economic hardship. Why? So that Trump has a straight face rationale for releasing them, business by business or industry by industry. As he adjusts or grants relief, it’s a win-win: the economy improves and dissent disappears.

That this isn't immediately obvious to absolutely everyone makes me sad

As I explain here, security isn't even the biggest part of the Signal Scandal. This is to keep actions secret from the US government. It's how to do crimes, bribes and more. talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/signa...

Trump claiming that NSC knew that Trump's entire NatSec team did something wildly incompetent and none of them -- not JD Vance, not Mike Waltz, not Susie Wiles -- gave him a heads up. Highly likely that's a lie, but it's not a lie that makes him look less stupid.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump on his cabinet members using Signal to text war plans to a reporter: "I don't know anything about it. I'm not a big fan of The Atlantic. To be it's a magazine that's going out of business. But I know nothing about it. You're saying that they had what?"
