Well I started with my regular starting word. One letter was the same as in “that” word so I tried it anyway. I often get distracted but yesterday I was sort of fixated on how strange it all was which lead me to remember it. 🥺

In case nobody did, in baseball, there's left field, center field, and right field. That's the way a baseball diamond is set up. Those three positions are referred to as "the outfield."

Thank you. I still don’t get why something out of *left* field is said to be surprising. What is it that comes out of left field that takes someone by surprise. Why couldn’t it come out of other parts of the outfield such as centre or right field? Sorry. I have a bee in my bonnet now!
