A tiny percentage of people can't strike for various reasons, but those who can should. If you want your country back, you need drastic action; otherwise, you will lose it. Then you'll wonder why you didn't do more. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. inthesetimes.com/article/shut...

That’s true sure but lives already are at stake. People are being attacked and kidnapped. They’ve killed political leaders. If things continue and people go business as usual then those same people are still at jeopardy. They’ve cut medical assistance from the weak. It’s only going to get worse.

I can’t abandon my patients but I can strike in other ways. I barely shop at big brand stores and am willing to completely shut that down and write the companies letters about doing so and why. I’ve already left Amazon and Target and do not miss it.

Been posting this for years: “Over 80% of purchases & purchase influences are made by women.” Food, clothing, beauty products, gardening, households, baby/child stuff, restaurants, travel, food, houses, cars, etc. Women alone could tank the economy if they organized & shut this BS down. IF only…

This is a combination boycott and protest, if it is coordinated well and people are willing to it, so far a paltry 10 million on any given day. But yes it is doable. We need to convince people who are struggling to join. We need a consistent plan and means of supporting each others.

Tax strike, also. How would they handle it if a 25, 30, 50% of the workers in the country all declined to withhold federal income taxes or file returns? They've gutted the IRS; they don't have the manpower to come after 30, 50, 80 million people. Fund your fascism yourselves, assholes.

Radicalisation of our legitimate grievances is arguably inevitable, especially when confronted by the worst excesses of The Don and his tyranny. But why escalate when a passive approach to resistence and protest has not yet been tried. Deliberately withholding our votes denies our oppressors.

I recommend readers refer to The General Strike which occurred in britain in 1926, and lasted around 9 days. Yes, a strike presents a serious challenge to the state. But, it also presents serious challenges to ordinary citizens. A passive vote strike removes the veneer of credibility.......

And without our democratic mandate, sustaining the dysfunctional status quo becomes increasingly more difficult for the political elite whose only claim to positions of power is the electorate's support. We are their Employers. They must operate in our interests. Remember that!

It would cost corporations billions. It would cripple a city, town. My only suggestion is not to encourage any profession that is responsible for lives. But even without them, it'd be enough to do some real eye opening damage. VIVA LA REVOLUTION!!!💙🇺🇸❤️🇲🇽🤛🤛🤛🤛

That is a Phenomenal piece. He is so correct in his statement. Instead of "No Kings" protests, let's shut down the country for a one day to two or three days strike to show how much we care about our country and our democracy.

Easy to say, but it takes organizers to make sure everybody - even the poor - can get food, emergency healthcare, etc ., for days or weeks at a time. Start by organizing mutual aid instead of running down protests.

Been saying this since the beginning. The farm laborers have to stop working, the public transport, the janitors, the hotel service workers, the auto industry, meat/chicken industries....start with one day, then a week, shake the whole dam tree until we end the corporate nazi regime of trump/GOP

This is NOT “Hate Speech”. There is Power in Words. These are Worthy. There are very few of us who have fought the “Death Cult Republicans” and lived to speak of it, so when WE choose to speak of it, YOU should choose to LISTEN.

Michael, how do we get MAGA red states to go on Strike??? You need everyone to join. Not just democrats... unless you have specific ideas, it's just a dream. Not saying it's a bad idea, no. In fact it's a great idea, but how do we that?

HOORAY! LET'S DO THIS! We need to bring this Country to a "STAND-STILL" for how long it takes! GIVING-IN to RW Nazi THUGS/bullies, only makes them STRONGER! It will come down to Civil War, be PREPARED! Sending LOVE & STRENGTH! 💙

It's the only non-violent way left.Did some research. There have been many massive national work strikes in US history and they were very successful.Sometimes the greedy and the government have to be reminded who the majority is and the power they have.

Your country is dying. Not a slow, peaceful death, a cancerous tumor is rapidly destroying it from within. There's no due process or human rights. What agencies you do have are completely gutted to the point they're no use. Trade & allies are going to. The longer you wait, the more you're losing.

When? It can't be one day or just a few days because the oligarchs can wait that out. Remember that the Montgomery bus boycott lasted a year. A one-day strike would have to be followed by a sustained action against one essential thing that has a workable alternative.

More of this and less of the useless single day performative pieces of crap we call “No Kings”. It’s time we stop everything or admit that they fight harder and might therefore deserve to win this war. I don’t want us to lay down and die but dammit if it doesn’t feel that way with each post I read.

I completely agree. It does but something like this requires a sense of urgency. We should have started a strike when the ugly bill was still up for votes. We can’t wait and hope the enemy crawls as slow as our justice system does. They’re running full speed to destroy the country. We need to catch⬆️

We can’t wait for someone to save us. We have to be the ones to save ourselves. If we can’t do more than muster the single day don’t kill us protests where people are still being harmed in the streets by corrupt police. They stormed the capital with the intent to kill and we can’t seem to strike.

If just 1/3 of Bluesky users signed the General Strike card, we'd be that much closer to saving Democracy. #UnityAmongTheUnified #StrongerTogether #Commit #Pinks bsky.app/profile/bosc...

If, like me, you've been sitting back worrying and wondering what to do, then it is time to sign your strike card and join the movement. It's just a signature but it is a first step towards something we can actively do, together. #UnityAmongTheUnified #StrongerTogether generalstrikeus.com

I'll support a 2-day strike. I'll help my neighbors and friends in need to sustain themselves. "Democracy for All, and justice for All" demands sacrifice. Before we reach a point of hopelessness and helplessness, we must scream nationally and with one voice that can be heard around the world.
