Based on analysis of years of revenues, losses and funding, since 2023, OpenAI has taken in $28.6bn in cash and had $13.7bn in losses. However, reports say OpenAI ended 1H 2025 with $9.6bn in cash - suggesting OpenAI's losses are billions higher than reported. www.wheresyoured.at/where-is-ope...

Not dumb at all. This is exactly my thought. The missing $4 billion was spent on something, but isn't a loss because there is an asset somewhere. Land bought for future datacenters? Advanced deposits on contracts? Who knows?

Hey Ed I saw Sam A. say that OpenAI was on track to make 20B this year but... how? Like... where did he get that number? Last I recall, The Information got some docs indicating they were going to fall short of the 13B they'd projected so...

Probably a dumb question, but how does one get away with citing annualized revenue in... November? The year is over! There's nothing to annualize! Those numbers are locked in! Maybe they had an absolute BLOWOUT October but I too am skeptical.

I've said originally Sam Altman is doomed to be Tom from Myspace but now I am pivoting and going to say he might be more like SBH lmao

It's like when you play one of those click farming mobile games and each level the multiplier goes up so by like level 15 you're doing the same thing as level 1 but there's more zeroes at the end of the number
