"Suicidal provocation of Russia while our armed forces are at their most woeful state since WW2". Mate, the Russian army is currently pulling T-55's out of storage and losing ~1,800 men a day in foot and motorcycle assaults that achieve nothing. This is "poke the bear" nonsense.

I guess Ukraine has not stopped Russia funding some people to post this "shit". I hope people of Britain has learned their lesson how Russia can buy people to support Russia.

If they are accepting Russian money when UK boots hit the ground in Ukraine (presuming that we could do it legally) then their actions in accepting money and opposing the government would meet the definition of *treason*. Life sentence. Bring it on.

Tough guy acts like a pussy with a destroyed army in retreat, that he would never be in combat against, weird optics. Not even covering the desperate Moscow script writing.

This is a country spending 40% of its budget on defense and losing to Ukraine. You think they're going to launch a naval invasion of Dover? They lost their Black Sea flagship to Ukraine, which basically does not have a navy. What are you talking about?!

"Oh, but they have nuclear weapons!" First, so do you. Second, if that's your approach than what does it matter what state the UK military is in? Third, does having nukes entitle them to run UK foreign policy now? Where does it end?

Thank you! I’ve been saying this for at least a year now. Putin can’t do shit, he’s not a threat. And since the (not a) war in Iran it’s also clear the Americans are pretty much fucked too. The government needs to find its backbone, cooperate and then rejoin the EU and tell these c*nts to fevk off.

These losers are as traitorous as Moseley’s blackshirts. Hopefully they will suffer the same fate should things escalate any further

The ‘big scary’ is their significant nuclear stockpile - but if that’s in the same nick as the rest of their forces, I’m more worried for any Russian people nearby “…dubbed the "ship of shame", …sailing close to the UK. The ageing carrier … belching clouds of black smoke” I think I’ll sleep OK tbh

In a conventional conflict the chances of Russian victory over Europe is slight, it's normally when the word 'missile' or 'nuclear' gets mentioned, or are we giving that up in the new 'don't provoke' them doctrine, not so much MAD as 'we give up'?

Reminds me of the debate in '50's both here and US, 'why do we need a conventional military anyway when we've got the bomb?', 'proportionate response' was the given reason.

Appeasement. It's been coming up to a century since that word came into general use, so I don't suppose most people know its meaning now. But there it is, far off countries of which we know little and care less.

Glad to know I'm not alone with this

People who know me will recall my obsession with Nigel Farage's Putin-appeasing NLP phrase "don't poke the bear" I heard it from someone else today and it shows the power of it. He's been using it for over a decade from all the way from RT to v2 GB News "Why poke the Russian bear with a stick"
