I can unequivocally state I do not hold fascist or fascist adjacent views.

This is utter racist bullshit, obviously. I assume his defenders would note that the fact that a Palestinian Arab assassinated his father when he was 14 (he was one of the pallbearers for the coffin) has impacted his worldview. But he's a conspiracy nutjob in general, so 🤷‍♂️

The Byline Times claimed that the mainstream media was exploiting the Arday case, however, the only ones exploiting the Arday case now are the Byline Times. Disgraceful

I can also state that Pie (Tom Walker) took money from Putin. One of the ways we should rebuild the cordon sanitaire is by not allowing people that worked for RT or Press TV to wash that off.

Personally I think there's more political profit for Labour pursuing this than making friendly overtures to the EU.

Jim Pickard@pickardje.bsky.social

Andy Burnham’s government has privately given up on reaching Labour’s target of building 1.5mn new homes by 2029, and ministers will refer to the goal less and less, according to government figures www.ft.com/content/285a...

One reason I have my doubts China will replace the US as the innovate behemoth of the 21st century is because a nation this insecure can only stymie the entrepreneurial spirit required.

this is only true if you woke up in 2024 and Trump 1 and the entire Republican Party across the last half century and more didn't exist but it's an excerpt from an interior designer and podcaster turned political commentator so this is the level of commentary we deserve I guess

After controversy over the Battle Of Ideas association with Oldspeak Bookshop another publisher is ready to step in.

I've seen a few tweets like this which are obviously terrible but these morons don't understand Brazil isn't Venezuela, it's nearly ten times as big in all metrics. Removing a Brazilian president would require an Iraq scale mobilisation of the military and a land invasion.

'Reminiscent of the worst sort of saloon-bar bore, ranting in a corner while other patrons realise it’s time to go home' - delightfully-scathing Simon Heffer review of Liz Truss's latest nonsense book, awarding it no stars in a hit job on 'Bank Job'. www.telegraph.co.uk/books/non-fi...

telegraph.co.ukLiz Truss’s new book is the most deranged thing I’ve ever readLike an alcoholic who cannot admit they have a drinking problem, the former PM is convinced that everyone else is to blame for her failures

I'm shocked I tell you, shocked.

More shocking displays by Bolsonaro supporters in the last 24 hours: voters wearing T-shirts that say “long live fascism,” doing a Nazi salute when entering the polls, and a white man walking a Black man on a chain at a pro-Bolsonaro gathering in Rio de Janeiro.

Just finished watching the latest series of The Diplomat. Tempted to say it's getting silly but given real events that's hard to square. Cracking fun in any case, one of the best things on TV right now. Jodie Whittaker a welcome addition to the cast, great as the new PM.

Caraballo is a zealot, almost as bad and irresponsible as Erin Reed. Trans people really need better advocates.

I haven't studied Kaptur's race closely, but I've been following Iowa and Turek winning seems pretty clearly better for trans rights.

Maybe Trump paid Bill Maher to kiss his ass, or maybe Maher was never honest about who he was and what he believed.👇

Joe Walsh@walshfreedom.bsky.social

When I was on Bill Maher’s show back in the day, he’d call me a crazy Tea Party guy. With disdain. Now look what Maher has become - an authoritarian-embracing MAGA apologist. If you told me back in 2016, that I’d become a NeverTrumper, and Maher would become a Trump bootlicker, I’d of said no way.

Very good post on Abdul El-Sayed from the Other Place which I'm posting here because it perfectly sums up my view. It also provides a clear answer why questioning his positions can't simply be pooh-pooed as racist even if it is the case for some of his critics.

This made me remember enjoying The Black Hole in the cinema as a kid. It's not something I noticed at 6 years old but it had a pretty good cast. I remember enjoying it but I think it bombed.
