Yes.,CNN reported it’s a 2nd type of algae formed from the chemicals. It is stronger, thicker & more toxic, plus the smell is far worse than decades of the other algae blooms. These stories behind paywalls aren’t repeated often on basic news. This 2nd issue , blue-green-algae/cyanobacteria is worse.

I think if more people realized what is found in various natural bodies of water in our environment, they would not be letting their pets OR other humans get into it. There are just some things that don't seem worth the risk to me, but I'm over-informed and over-cautious.
