Really feels like a tipping point now, with lots of the familiar centrist Dems and even MAGA Silicon Valley types calling out Trump (and Stephen Miller) for harsh immigration policy. Dem leadership has moved to no funding for DHS, and R senators are calling for investigations (weak but notable).

I don't know what happens next but the equilibrium of the last year where the admin does horrible things and normal people and other institutions try to ignore it or work around it has collapsed. I don't know what comes (it may be worse) next but it's not this

I’ll believe it when I see it. There’s be so many “tipping points” when DJT should’ve been curbed, and yet, he’s only marched onward.

You can take the Silicon Valley oligarchs and either jail them or deport them. Start with. Zuchs biz move down the road pick up zergy and goggle up the hill to Tesla and then every building up and down page mill. LOCK THEM ALL UP

Tragic that it took two avoidable murders and countless injustices to arrive at this place where elites are finally acknowledging what the people have been demanding for a year. As someone who has been banging on this drum, I'm relieved with the trend, but dismayed with the consequences of inaction.

More of us data people need to push back against the Yglesiases of the world, who view public opinion as binding as opposed to something that can be shaped. I appreciate the work and integrity you've shown throughout this terrible time, Elliott.

And it's so much more than the politics of whether or not affordability or immigration/deportation is a better sell to voters. Minneapolis is showing us in stark terms that opposing Trump's inhumane deportation policies is a moral imperative.

When will Dems also start talking about the immigration reform package that Trump killed before the election? It wasn't great but it's better than jackbooted thugs killing people in the streets. There needs to something meaningful paired with the "defund" demand

Perhaps it's time to address, as Sarah Kendzior state, "the transnational crime syndicate masquerading as a government" and put propaganda news networks out of business. Let's stop providing incentive to lie in this country.

That Silicon Valley is changing their tune now means either they weren’t smart enough to see this was what was going to happen, or they just didn’t care.

There are Republicans in Congress, & Republican governors, coming around. Kevin Stitt, Phil Scott, James Comer (trying to argue Trump should w/draw fed goons to *punish* Minnesota).

Which silicon valley types? I only saw calcanis, and I didn't find his to be very empathetic at all- though admittedly, I am very much biased against them.
