@jumaane.bsky.social spoke incredibly movingly. I appreciate that he always talks about immigrant rights and trans rights. A city for everyone. He got choked up when speaking to a "Black boy 49 years ago" - himself. Telling him that it would all be all right. I teared up.

This was just ceremonial, I think - the actual swearing in happened at midnight fourteen hours before. But this was still great.

New York is funny in that immediately when I saw this picture I thought “oh yeah, Sliwa and Spider-Man, but who is that kid why is he in the picture?” as if he is the out of place element.
