The only good tracks were bad remixes of 14 songs. You are not wrong to continually ask "but what do you MEAN the good parts?".

I think FFXVI just fell too far outside the zeitgeist to warrant that kind of consideration.

Suzuki did some sequenced tracks for FFXV and FF7R too but he's mastered his production to the point where the only thing really sounding sequenced is his synthetic percussion, eg Ravus Aeterna in FFXV or Reno battle in 7R. In XVI he did the main arrangement of "Find The Flame" which is why it hits.

This is a big problem with most of soken’s work imo. So many ffxiv themes are mixed so poorly you can’t hear the lyrics

it's trying to do an "upbeat remix of the protagonist's theme as final boss music" thing like Devil Trigger (Silver Bullet Mix) for DMC5 (which coincidentally i also thought sounded kinda bad)
