Totally agree that this sort of thing is the intended use-case of the text. Same with worthless people using AI to 'digitally undress' others without their consent - that's a capability that the creators pretty obviously anticipated and tacitly encouraged.

Only affluent families can really afford this tech, so it's less likely to be banned then, iunno, the color red or something dumb that schools can pretend is linked to gangs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't it seem unusual that a half-dozen little creeps in your classroom - who had NEVER worn any sort of vision aid - suddenly turn up in uber-geek glasses? Couldn't that be the start of banning, at least on school grounds. Won't help anywhere else though.

Seriously the use case for "recording you in public without you knowing I'm recording you" has very few scenarios and none of them are good. Else you can just hold a camera. Like your phone.

It's illegal in two-party consent states. CA, FL, IL, MD, MA, MO, NH, PA, WA, DE, OR. E.g., www.recordinglaw.com/united-state... It's pretty easy to prove a violation if the video was posted online. Some states require you to establish damages, but for example in CA it's a $5K violation.
