This reads like a parody of a terrible profile.

before the election, doing dogpile coverage on Trump's heavily documented and extremely plausible rape allegations would be Political and therefore improper. after the election it's time to turn the page, let bygones be bygones, look forward not backward, bsky.app/profile/hoff...

i hope if nothing else, the media ignoring this finally stops people from saying "the reason the media doesn't run drumbeat scandal coverage on trump the way they did on Clinton is because Dems don't make a big deal of it like Republicans do"

this is just insanely damning stuff when you lay it all out democrats-judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-su...

Over 2,000 alumni from Vivek’s all-boys catholic high school in Cincinnati have signed and circulated a petition demanding that he pull the ad and issue a public apology for “ignoring the moral responsibilities” of his Jesuit education. I think he’s pretty cooked.

chat I don’t think doubling down on this ad is working out real well for vivek

The funny thing about that Marist poll is the LV screen being obviously designed to get the senate race within the MoE has done absolutely bonkers things to the rest of their numbers.

Elon Musk was introduced at a MAGA rally as “the greatest capitalist in history.” Reviewing Alex Gibney’s “Musk,” Paul M. Barrett writes that Musk instead combined “an uncanny ability to hoover up government subsidies and contracts with a P.T. Barnum-level talent for hucksterism.”

buff.ly‘The Greatest Capitalist In History’? A Review of Alex Gibney’s ‘Musk’“Musk” offers a portrait of an unsettling figure with the ability to impose his warped ideas on US society and the world at large, writes Paul M. Barrett.

Pretty wild: Even some MAGA figures are now panicking about the early vote. And for good reason: The electorate is 11 points more Dem than at this point in 2024, and Latino vote is surging. On the pod @simonwdc.bsky.social is very illuminating on what the data shows: newrepublic.com/article/2171...

I don’t think I’ll ever get out the fact that any one of these mega-wealthy oligarchs could make sure we don’t have a single hungry child or unhoused person in our nation—and yet here we are. 15 million children are hungry and food insecure as I write this.

"Guys like Obama don't see it. They don't see dirt, they don't see filth. He doesn't see broken ornaments...The White House, President Obama is a symbol of America. It has to be clean." Feels like the focus on hygiene and cleanliness might be standing in for something here!

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump is BIG MAD about Obama saying the White House now looks like Saddam opened a Cheesecake Factory: "He's not a smart guy. He's not smart at all ... for you to say it's a Cheesecake Factory, that just shows why you were a lousy president"

1. Not sure when a new, on-the-record rape allegation against a sitting president isn’t considered news — especially considering Trump was found liable by a jury in a similar case — but it was ignored by most mainstream media outlets

Texas Krusty reposted

Sadly, if this allegation is true, it wouldn’t be the first time Donald Trump was found to have raped a woman “the jury’s finding that Mr Trump ‘sexually abused’ Ms Carroll implicitly determined that he forcibly penetrated her digitally-in other words, that Mr Trump in fact did rape Ms Carroll”

Prem Thakker ツ@premthakker.bsky.social

NEW: "Donald Trump was an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse of young women during the mid-to-late 1990s," per new House Judiciary Dem report. Report has new allegation that Trump raped a 24-year-old and then promised the victim a visa & NYU admission, demanding she stay quiet.

Texas Krusty reposted

He's not currently on any ballots. So, there's no credible argument that NYT is worried about unduly influencing an active election in which he is a candidate. Indirect affects on elections should be immaterial.

Beyond disgusted by even more rape allegations against the President of the United States. "In total, more than 25 different women...have independently accused Donald Trump of rape, sexual assault, or other sexual misconduct." Report w/ new details: democrats-judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-su...

It's hard to believe but Democrats ran for decades against the "Bush tax cuts" and then made most of them permanent. Then ran against the "Trump tax cuts" and then didn't repeal them either.

Texas Krusty reposted

You can do the same thing, buying a house and borrowing against it—ha ha, just kidding, normal people get taxed annually on their wealth via property taxes, the "you can't tax wealth, the economy will collapse!" rule applies solely to the super-rich.

Steven T. Dennis@steventdennis.bsky.social

For the fabulously wealthy, paying taxes is pretty much optional. They can borrow against their vast wealth, which is mostly an untaxed capital gain, without paying taxes. When they die, the capital gain goes to zero. And loopholes exist to bypass the estate tax too.

Sure, it’s bad. But, imagine if there was a story about a woman who knew a woman whose husband was a dirtbag and had exchanged some emails over the last decade with her. Now THAT would shakeup an election! The president being credibly accused of violent rape for the 20th time? Eh… too political.

I can't stress enough how counterproductive it is for campaign sites to hit visitors with a donation pop-up they have to close before they can see anything. A week out, most visits to these pages are voters trying to make up their minds.

The unit economics here are frankly shocking they're so good. This is wildly stronger than I expected tbh.
