Hey NYC, we’re rallying tomorrow to tell CBS to reverse its politically-charged cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s show. If CBS cares about their integrity, our democracy, and free speech, they must reverse their decision and keep Colbert on the air.

He will go somewhere that we can continue to enjoy him, but where he will be valued and appreciated as well. CBS is not the answer. They have already made it clear they don’t care about integrity, democracy, or free speech. I celebrate his freedom.

I think the best way to send a message that this shit doesn’t stand is for anyone in a position to do so to actively sabotage the consummation of the Paramount/Skydance merger. This acquiescence is driven by greed for money. Derailing the successful merging would make clear the wages of sin. 1/

While public protests at locations such as the Paramount studio gates or the homes of Shari Redstone or the Ellisons would be a plus, ultimately it comes down to people inside these companies or their law firms actively fucking up shit to complicate success of their efforts. Those who can, should.

He got cancelled for the same reason many other comedy shows get cancelled. Sliding ratings because people get tired of politics in their shows they want to enjoy. Especially one sided politics.

You are correct it was his advertisers that were going away costing a money loss per yr. His ratings were pretty consistent. So I stand corrected. I bet advertisers were a little nervous about the political climate and the ridge between Cobert and Trump.

This isn’t about defending a rich celebrity’s opportunity to earn money for telling jokes. It’s about defending the principle of first amendment free speech against state-directed targeting. This is Putin Orban Maduro shit. Silence is unacceptable.

I don’t think it’s going to work, and I’m betting Colbert is not on board or supportive. We don’t even know if he would accept if it was offered. And if CBS gave a damn about optics or integrity they wouldn’t have agreed to the BS settlement in the first place.

Most people have no realistic expectation that CBS would change course. This is more about calling out their complicity with a tyrannical regime in order to drag them down and hopefully derail their entire desperate attempt to complete a merger at the cost of free speech.

The hypocrisy and complicity has already been illuminated, so public and visible outcry is all this is, and I don't see it changing anything. The merger will go through, and Steven will still be able to speak freely, they's just taking away his microphone and the cameras.

Hey. There’s a man-made famine occurring in Gaza at the hands of the US’s "closest ally." Perhaps a rally on this is more important than for a guy who’s worth $75 million.

It’s not like people aren’t ALSO focusing on that. Trump and Bannon’s strategy has always been Flood the Zone With Shit. We can call out Alligator Alcatraz, Complicity with Israeli genocide, attacks on the Justice system, and targeting of famous people who oppose Trump. It’s not either/or! JFC

I think Colbert is going to be fine. He could get a job anywhere or could easily retire while making money on appearances On the other hand, If you are for boycotting CBS and all their enterprise, then I'm all in I believe you're barking at the wrong tree on this one

This isn’t about Stephen Colbert entered her needing help. If need be secure to protect himself, and truth be told he’ll probably end up more entertaining than ever once cut free from CBS. What this is about this principle. 1/

it’s about defending the rights of people under the first amendment to not be politically targeted by a tyrannical president or his regime. Colbert isn’t some dangerous dissident, he’s a mainstream comedian who does political commentary and satire. If he’s not safe from retribution, no one is.

Hi quick question there are a bunch of human beings locked in the basement of a fed-owned office building in a suburb near here but Sen. Warren seems really into this Colbert thing too so when you guys are done or whatever could you pls remind her about the human beings in the basement thing? k thx

Ok so like there’s a genocide happening in Gaza, the government’s running snatch squads that go around and kidnap people, people are having their very right to exist stripped away, and what you’re concerned about is a middling talk show hosted by a washed up comedian getting canned? Go to hell
