I think it should be a bigger story that the Senate is preparing to confirm five Trump judicial nominees whose answers to questions about the 2020 election are exactly what you would say if you were a “Trump only lost because of voter fraud” conspiracy theorist

ballsandstrikes.orgSenate Democrats Are Letting Trump’s Judicial Nominees Off the HookTrump's nominees gave some eye-popping answers in their written questionnaires. Why didn't Senate Democrats ask these questions in person?

If you’re on a committee you should attend the hearings No excuses Yes MAGA is going to rubber stamp Trump’s stooges But It’s what they are paid for and what one assumes they were elected for! Hopefully they wanted to govern and not just grift like Trump And what does it says about their priorities!

What's new?! The Democratic leaders are secure and snuggled up cozy, in the blanket of entitlement that stupid dem voters, silent in their ignorance, paralyzed by fear, wetting themselves in indecision and incontinent in the status quo.....have adoringly given them. Dinosaurs the lot! ....FLACID!

...sigh... The 👏 minority 👏 party 👏 can 👏 only 👏 slow 👏down 👏 confirmations, 👏not👏 stop 👏 them. Senate Dems slowed down the process as much as possible. If the Senate has a lot of other business, this can stop confirmations. The Senate doesn't have anything else right now besides the budget bill.

We talk, we call, we email until we are blue in the face. We can't give up. We have to push them harder and louder. If/when the time comes we must primary their asses. If they don't want to represent us, why vote them back in. I will vote for a 19 year old working family candidate over them any day

Re Lanahan's response to the question of whether the Capitol was attacked on January 6, why isn't her response considered perjury? While she likely wasn't at the Capitol on J6, she surely has "personal knowledge" of the details.

When republicans were in the minority they all vote no in unison on everything and grind it all down until democrats give in. At least try that even if you get nothing but don’t give up in advance.

Hey @schiff.senate.gov, was there a scheduling conflict? If not I'd like to at least hear something creative about why questions weren't asked. Letting election deniers get nominated...just seems like a bad idea. I thought we were planning on slowing things down, or at least getting sound bites.

It’s a pointless exercise. No matter how ridiculous the answers or how much they stonewall these clowns still get confirmed by Trump’s puppet Republicans. I don’t blame the Dems for boycotting.

At present, there are 53 Rs and only 47 Ds and Is who caucus with the Ds. That means that the D caucus has a nearly impossible challenge in convincing at least 4 Rs to break with their party in order to prevent any of Trump's nominees from being confirmed. Electing more D senators is the only answer

What are judicial nominations a distraction from, now? I don’t mean to be cynical, truly: if you’re on Senate Judiciary, you grill judicial nominee because it’s the job. In this case, though, it’s also a forum in which to fight Trump. What were Democratic Senators doing that was more important?

Yes U R right! The turn out for 6/14/25 was great.WE know that King Trump still won!We know Project2025 is now the law of the land. We know theConstitution is being pissed on by the cults zombies who cheer Trump and ICE on because they hate “liberals”.Why don’t the Dems in Congress know what WE know?

Just wait. Some Dems will vote again to confirm the worst candidates. Example: Democratic Senators who voted to confirm A i l e e n C a n n o n : Carper (DE) Coons (DE) Cortez Masto (NV) Feinstein (CA) Hassan (NH) Jones (AL) Kaine (VA) Leahy (VT) Manchin (WV) Murphy (CT) Rosen (NV) Warner (VA).

Of the 6 Dem Senators confirmed Kristi Noem, Sen Kaine (VA) was the only one who had also voted for Aileen Cannon. I wish Dem politicians would learn from their mistakes. I'm not listing the other 5 Dems. No sense in hurting Dems any further. Yes, Feinstein died. Carper retired. Jones lost.

Stated belief in the Big Lie should be automatic disqualification for any kind of nomination to high office, full stop. These nominees are deranged, and Democrats that vote for them have lost their ethical compasses.

My only explanation for highly analytical "attorneys" who support Trump nonsense is bigotry. They're not stupid. They choose stupid because of drag queens or something. Also eff Dem leadership.
