Not watching news on TV and muting everything on here has done wonders for my mental health I heard hegseths voice for the first time 2 weeks ago and then wished I still hadnt heard his voice

I really never watch cable news outside of occasional clips or accidentally when traveling. You'd genuinely be better just reading a handful of ProPublica and Guardian articles. Even the best of the form is full of ads and silly speculation and just wastes your time.

I read on a reputable source that Tom is a staunch Catholic...never misses Sunday Mass...hard to piece that together...but answer me this...What was the probable cause to keep a kid in detention for 2 wks on a cement floor with little food or water...on his way to band practice... "Conservative" catholics are religionists. They focus, like evangelicals, on sin and personal salvation after death; and attendance at a service. They dont beleve in social responsibility.

In contrast there are sincere people who are catholics and other denominations who spend themselves making some part of the world better, helping the immigrants, the poor, the victims of oppression. They pray quietly alone. Mathew 6 comes to mind...

People need to understand that Trump et al have intentionally fractured communication with what humanity stands for: love, kindness, helping others to help themselves, investment in America as a land of opportunity and that the work is never finished i.e. there is always room for improvement.
