most of these "libertarian free market think tankers" were paid covertly under the table by America's shittiest companies to argue for ZERO functional oversight of corporate power, then when the corpses, rampant fraud, and mass suffering appear, they're just completely intellectually fucking absent

again I know a lot of them, and unless I missed it, I've yet to see a single one of these free market think tank knobs face ANY meaningful reputational impact whatsoever in the Loper Bright, Supreme Court-driven, corruption free for all their policy proposals directly enabled

And, hilariously, their avid followers think so highly of their intellect that they're convinced that - if they ever found themselves in their Galt's Gulch paradise - they wouldn't be stripped of everything by nightfall.

you're going to see a LOT of this sort of retconning (I was always on the right side of history) by all the very loud people who were on the wrong side of history. Especially as Trump's health fails. we need a big tent to dismantle fascism, but a little accountability might be nice as a treat
