I mean the best counter is "It is because America stands for Freedom and Texas is about letting people live their lives as they see fit that I support trans people. Paxton wants the government meddling in people's personal lives, and it won't stop at they/them."
I mean, regardless of what the best iteration of the pronoun pun would be, the point is that "for they/them" would be easy to counter if Dems were willing to just unashamedly support trans rights
The funny thing about that Kamala Harris “they/them” ad is that it doesn’t work nearly as well if inflation wasn’t also pissing people off. I doubt it has the same effect this time when the Republicans are the ones responsible for the shitty economy.
Just once-- just ONCE!-- I would like to see one of these Democrats, instead of capitulating to "gain votes," try being loudly pro-trans from a Yeehaw America Freedom angle. The government's got no business sticking their hands down your pants and telling you how to speak or what meds to take!
That’s what I don’t understand.
Republicans are going to brand you with their most fear mongering position.
Stop fighting on their ground and fight for trans rights.
Republicans are overly concerned with examining the contents of people’s underpants which is really weird and creepy.
I advocate for not buying into the hate put forward by them.
Look, everyone knows that when you just let them punch you in the face on their heaviest attack and you go "oh well OK they have a point," they stop and go "well onto economics."
The best way to win elections is to go around telling everyone that your opponent is right and that your own voter base are dangerous freaks.
Every Democratic Party campaign strategist knows this.
I am shocked, I say, shocked that the GOP’s response to his equivocation wasn’t to respectfully acknowledge his concession and move on to a new topic. Truly, no one could have ever predicted this.
