This was how i convinced my wife i needed a second 3d after i got a 100$ ender 3. So.. There's a k1-max and a p1s with AMS on my bar in the basement now. The ender is in parts in my workshop, slowly transforming into a CNC. Then.. i'm gonna use it to convince her i need a *good* CNC.

The only exception is anything that goes between you and the ground. Shoes, tires, chairs, and mattresses all warrant getting the upgrade from day 1.

Doesn't work for learning a musical instrument. On a really cheap instrument you will not learn which mistakes are your own, and which are the fault of bad equipment.

But you can still go for the higher end of the lower price range. There's a reason my middle school band had so many rental Yamaha clarinets from the lower end of their model offerings being played with Rico reeds. The $100 unfixable tier coming into being didn't destroy that being a good idea.
