Weird, when Trump wants to send $40 billion to Argentina for no reason except to prop up a fellow dickheadtator, no problem Funding SNAP? OMG we're broke. Stop voting for the stupidest people possible.

He doesn’t care. He thinks that money is his money and he will do anything to funnel it into his pockets if allowed. It’s time to end this grift.

Doh 😣 Why did many voters think #Conald would be good for our #economy? Yeah maybe short term but at a higher cost long term. #badDeal It was obvious. I blame voters this time. Lemmings "did their own research" within a small scope of ideology. Free thinkers would actually not limit their input.

He's taxing small businesses into oblivion so tech ceo edgelords can experience next gen masturbation with spicy AI. Absolutely unreal that *anybody* voted R yesterday.

Tariffs are much better than income tax: they are easier to collect, compliance rate is high, and there is nothing to file with IRS. Ideally all taxes on middle class should be replaced with tariffs and sale taxes.

Can I ask where’s this money going? I know where it comes from. I hope the answer isn’t ‘It’s resting in Yam Tits’ bank account’

The money is on the terrif shelf. Trump alone knows where that shelf is, and he alone has the authority to get the money out from there. bsky.app/profile/atru...

Trump: "The other day, it was very interesting, they found $31 billion. They said, 'Sir, we've found 31.' I said, 'You mean positively, right?' They said, '$31 million more than we knew.' And they said, 'We don't know where it came from.' I said, 'Check the tariff shelf.'"

The small business who brought this lawsuit have the best argument ever. They moved their suppliers then Trump imposed tariffs on that country also. The original idea was to stop trading with China. But, it looks more like Trump is trying to trash the global economy.

Tariffs are extracting what little wealth the middle and lower class citizens have; siphoning it to a government that's ineffective and providing basic services to the people it's supposed to be representing. Fuck tariffs and fuck the idiots who think tariffs are good. Financial warfare is still war

I live in rural area that usually votes Republican. Yesterday, in our municipal elections, the Democratic candidates won every contest. The media won't analyze the results in my rural little town, but I will: Trumpism is in deep trouble. Americans are pissed off at the GOP.

I write for a small town newspaper. Would you be willing to share what municipality you're referring to? In my own small town, people are calling it a referendum, but ours is a whole lot more nuanced than blue wave. I'd love to see an actual referendum in yours.

NPR is failing its readers. The tariffs revenue is being paid by Americans. The millions of dollars Trump's tariffs is raising comes directly from the Americans people; they pay the tariffs.

Trumps tariffs aren't "raising" shit, they're siphoning money away from any American that doesn't actively belong to the ruling wealthy class to fund their own short sighted gain. They're bloated ticks that have gotten fat on our money and sacrifice.

We also have record breaking deficits and accumulating debt because of Republican tax cuts. The tariffs are hurting the economy, but don't generate nearly enough revenue to offset those GOP tax cuts. Fiscal conservatism is killing us economically.

He increased the deficit this year by 1.9 trillion. A 600 billion tariff offset is only 31% of that, nowhere near a win considering the expected 3.4 trillion more he is on track to incur. And as you noted, this "tariff" decrease in the deficit is paid for by US consumers who are now paying more.

It’s a tax on us. This is our money they are talking about. It’s going towards the tax cuts for the rich. In other words, we are undergoing a massive transfer of wealth from us to the upper class. This is the story to write about.
