The Obama Presidential Center opens this month and it looks ready to receive people from all over. I spent a few moments on Saturday evening capturing the campus with a fiery sunset as the backdrop. Love the warm glow from within, too

What it represents: “The design of the Obama Presidential Center represents a movement upward from the grassroots, symbolizing collective civic engagement and the idea that many hands shape a place. It aims to honor history while inspiring future generations to create their own stories.” Claycorp

Does it include the parts where he expanded executive power for its own sake? Or where his administration punished journalists, after promising transparency? Or the part where he punished no one for destroying the economy? Maybe there's just a general "he let us all down" reflection spot

Come see all the wars Obama started in Libya 2011, Syria 2012, Ukraine coup in 2014, Yemen 2015. He continued Bush's wars. He gave us warmongers Hillary, Genociders Joe & Kamala, he's responsible for Trump getting elected twice because Democrats refused to help Americans & work for the rich also.

Beautiful, love the landscape - BUT I wish the walking paths werent white. It's harmful to sensitive eyes - and before you come at me, sunglasses don't work at all angles. A light grey would have been a safer color.

But it's more than just the building, it's all of that land around it and the complexes surrounding that were built for interaction.....families and for anyone at all to enjoy equally. Everyone hated the pyramid at the Louvre, and now people travel the world just to see it

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Obama was a great POTUS and I voted for him twice, that said my first impression was that it reminded me of something I saw in Start Wars.

Looks amazing. What a fantastic building and surroundings leading up to it. Sadly I’ll never ever return to visit US again. Thanks for sharing, these timelines need some beautiful architecture from US.

I’ve been working on this project the last three years. I got diagnosed with cancer in December and am squeezing in a trip for the opening ceremony between finishing chemo and having surgery. It’s so cool to see how much it’s changed from being a construction site.

Oh man. This is a simultaneously awesome and heartbreaking post. I hope your treatment is going as well as it can. Both my parents went through some pretty rough battles with cancer. Thanks for building this and I hope the opening ceremony is amazing for you as it sounds like it will be.

My company did all of the AV for the exhibits - the projectors, displays, speakers, computers, etc. It’s been such a great project to work on. Truly one of the best clients I’ve ever had. My crew just loaded out last week and it was very bittersweet.

OH NO I had no idea, and if you'd mentioned it to me before, I've forgotten! I though it just happened to be a fancy building... What a strangely accurate detail to put into a movie that's set in Italy

That's a stunning shot! The sunset adds a sense of hope and renewal to the campus. What drew you to this particular spot for your photo?

Imagine if he had tried to put up this kind of structure WHILE president, ON the side of the WH, saying it had snipers and drones on the top of it.

That fiery sunset truly crowns a masterpiece! 🌅 The warm glow from within feels like a beacon of hope and inspiration, ready to welcome the world. Capturing this historic moment so beautifully is absolutely breath-taking! 🏛️✨

Stunning What’s notable is how a big chunk of land is used for walking trails & outdoor space It used as small a footprint as possible for a LOT of interior space The architecture isn’t for everyone I guess But I like its unique, softer, almost “brutalist” style Bet it looks great at night

That’s really cool now you have compelled me to want to go online and look at the tourist information about it😅💯 I mean, I could never step foot in America with what’s going on, but I’d still like to know more about the building and the grounds

This is what a President does. Create something for all to enjoy. Make it thought provoking and inspiring. Honor our past and give hope for our future. Fired up and ready to go!!!!

Let's celebrate THIS for our 250th! A place for all to be welcome, a tribute to America, not just a great president! Let's celebrate this new center for July 4, 2026

Look at all that new concrete where there used to be a Woman's garden and old growth trees For a couple of Harvard grads they didn't make a good decision it's for EGO Not as hideous as the White House but same mentality Me me me look at me

Yep, thought we got rid of kings. These grotesque monstrosities are just monuments to staggering narcissism. Yes, to become potus you have to be a raging narcissist (what normal person would ever dream of it?). Obama is no exception (he's one of the more outwardly arrogant, & that's saying a lot).

Well, since Trump doesn't read his "Presidential Library" just needs to be the size of the ones at the end of the block. that we have in many neighborhoods !!

Why??? Why does this country waste money on stupid self-aggrandizing shit for anyone? How many kids could that have fed? How many single parents could have gotten a break in childcare costs? Unhoused housed? It’s ugly as fuck, and as disconnected from its surroundings as those who praise it.

Beautiful. Haven't read anything about the center. The shape must be symbolic of something...it looks like an ark and an obelisk combined. The words at the top are striking in their pattern and play of light. Complex and evocative structure. Kudos to the architect. It's an awesome building.

Just to be clear: it will do absolutely nothing to bring economic revitalization to that part of town Visit "Independence, MO" sometime. Really top notch library. Zero impact. ...or the JFK library in Dort. Fun fact, JFK was kinda popular, particularly in greater Boston. Zero, zilch, zicca.

This area already has the Museum of Science and Industry and located in a major lakefront park next to the University of Chicago. It’ll be busy.

The JFK Library has a state university and a nearby convention center. No restaurants, shops, local private commerce at all. They just stole part of Jackson Park based on a lie.
