doesn't everyone see the common denominator amongst all countries having political democracy issues? the far right in these countries are too extreme wanting to be only power ruler king in charge. But this should be interesting to watch on how it plays out.

Also if you care about democracy that is what Austria is doing. In every other country, that has more than 2 parties they have to form governing coalitions. They have the seats to create that without the far-right so I don’t see your issue. Unless you want Austria to go back to mistakes of the past

Maybe it's not illegal, but yes, I see that as anti-democatic. Like in Canada when the liberal party and NDP joined up to keep Trudeau in office. It turned to shit. You guys need to get over your generational guilt and stop thinking everyone is a Nazi.

You voted for a tech oligarch to take a chainsaw to government? Newsflash no one did. What happened was the Republican Party and the rapist felon you voted for ushered in fascism. They’re passing unlawful and unconstitutional EOs as Article 1 delegates appropriations to Congress.

No, I voted for the guy who would end the Censorship Industrial Complex and end the wars in Ukraine and Gaza. The banning men in women's sports thing was also pretty cool. Oh, and freeing the Jan. 6th political prisoners. I'm sure there's other stuff but that's all I can think of at the moment.

Thanks for reporting the news for once, but you're still a trash rag news company now, NY Times. Why don't you grow a pair and defend democracy instead of kissing up to your Clown king elon and his butt plug minion Dumbold trump?

Makes sense to me. This is where American Democracy went wrong, just two parties. We have our reps voting in party lines, instead of what’s best for their constituents. A three party system would have stopped that.

But your stupid paper enabled the orange fascist in charge of your country. You lot are full of shit. Europeans know fascists and we are not going to allow those deplorables govern... Never going to happen. They will get their 17% to 20% here and there because every continent has its share of idiots

I'm not sure it's a good idea. People who voted for them will be convinced the system is rigged and it might just strengthen their resolve to vote for them again. Better to persuade by policy scrutiny.

I am Austrian and the real background story to this is that the leader of the far-right party was tasked to form a government but seems to have lost his mind with what he wanted - it actually was a clear path to become an anti-democratic, pro-Russia shit hole country like Hungary - so he failed

With a proportional system being first doesn't grant you much, you can try to form a government but they weren't able to make a deal with other parties so other parties that collectively amount to a majority formed a government. FPÖ was first but with 29% so way far from being the only option.

Thanks for sharing this positive news! The world is on fire caused by the far right extremists! Thank you Australian Freedom Party for standing up against the far right party!

Vacant Vance and muskrat are going to lose their 💩 over that! They love Nazis. Anyone asked vacant Vance why AP have been banned from airforce one and White House for saying Gulf of Mexico? And that 🤡 says Uk doesn’t allow freedom of speech! NO PRESS ORGANISATION BANNED FROM 10 DOWNING STREET.

Maybe the U.S. system isn't the right way to do this. We don't have to really form "coalitions" once elected. Once a buffoon crosses the goal line he has power. Period. Seems like other countries have been able to tamp down the crazies (so far) and we're spiraling helplessly into a dictatorship.
