The Trump administration on Monday said it would pay Duke Energy $129 million to abandon its plans to build an offshore wind farm off North Carolina. It was the fourth such deal struck by the administration to throttle the development of offshore wind power.

If they are getting paid a ridiculous amount to not continue or work, they are making the smart choice for business. They know theyll just build it once Trump is out anyways

What folks seem to be missing is what a sweet deal this is for Duke Energy (all the companies he is paying to stop). When the next administration comes into office these companies will be paid again to restart all these projects.

How can Trump pay these companies anything? Congress is supposed to have the "power of the purse," right? Yet, Trump spends our money without authority like a drunk'n sailor on shore leave.

What the fuck are we doing? Make the coal industry pay this shit, if someone needs to be paid off. Not the US taxpayers! And stop fucking with the free market you claim to love so much!

"Striking a deal" with energy companies to keep energy prices high. If only you fucks could report it like this.

"It was the fourth such deal struck by the administration to get companies to forfeit their offshore wind leases." Phew. Thank god! Those nefarious offshore wind leases. The horror. THE HORROR! Where would we be w/o the One Deal Don.

Embarrassing to report it like this. “Trump would pay” no taxpayers will pay. “Deal?” No he’s making everything more expensive by blocking a normal project because he has a bizarre hatred of wind farms all because they affected the view of his golf course one time years ago

#AmericaLast running to the back of the pack. #Philippines, #Pakistan, #Cuba, #India, #China just racing to embrace #renewables in the high cost fossil #energy market created by tRump wars while we, the American taxpayer, pay to abandon progress in the market segment.
