I’m happy when corporations consider that philosophical trading has something to offer, but this story made me wonder about AI companies’ motivations. For example, are those who studied under Chalmers being hired in order to provide arguments that AI might achieved consciousness?

I'm not a Philosophy Major, but my sister was. And my father-in-law got his doctorate in Philosophy. And wrote books on the subject. Never met him, as like so many philosophers he moved overseas to teach, to make a living. Glad to see them get their day.

A d, having spent most of my career as an AI product leader, the balance of Humanities + Tech knowledge is absolutely critical. Don’t send your kids to school to learn to code - give them a well-rounded liberal arts degree combined with a core understanding of tech.
