100%. No one should be getting sent from this country to an El Salvador prison, and it is enraging that people who live in a democracy and who claim to care about the rule of law would ever disagree.

All those far right types sure love to anyone even mildly left of center about soviet gulags right until they start supporting sending people to them.

This is right, of course. But we also need to keep making the argument about how indiscriminately they used the Alien Enemies Act. Even though criminal records shouldn’t matter, we have to hit them with everything we’ve got.
