Dem @colorado.gov Jared Polis thinks his party should talk more about climate change — and "center" their affordability plan around it. "I don't think there's any part of America that's been spared the impact of climate change," he told @zcolman.bsky.social on POLITICO Energy. 🎧 politi.co/4sOfPem

Why don’t you talk about competent government first? While I agree that climate change is important, most voters need an end to the chaos and, you know, need to afford to live today, before they can care about tomorrow.

They need to NOT talk about climate change & just DO it. Republican fools who voted for this inept corrupt government won’t understand this & they reject science like the plague. Just say they’ll get more $ & pay less, no need to reveal the plan. Straight up play them & fix it.

It's good policy, but don't be naive; most voters, including many D voters, don't vote on policy, haven't got the faintest ideas what policies are, and have no un understanding of the nuances of various policies. Elections are won on emotions, slogans, impressions, branding etc not policy.

ANd indy voters are open about it; they often say that they vote for the person, not the party, which means they vote for who they like based on some internal reaction to visual images and which way the wind is blowing.

I wish that were the case, but I have frequently had convos right here with people who had strong opinions unhinged from the reality of policy. For example the people who claimed Mills was all in for AIPAC (she's not), or said Biden didn't support working people, or Dems are the party of big money.

As much as I like the governor, while climate issues should be front burner action, you have a much bigger issue that you have to deal with first. Focus on your democracy without that there will be no climate change policies in your country.

We’ve had plenty of information available on climate change for decades. People are aware. The thing is you can localize the fuck out of any issue you want and most Americans will just go on and consume rather than deal with it. By the time they realize something is a problem it’s already too late.

It’s gonna be scary this summer in CO without the snowpack, big fire risk. Still crazy how EU resisted renewables AS IF climate change is the only value, no talk of energy security or resilience. You really can address climate with other needs.

The problem with climate is #AI exposes hoax. AI must be trained on pristine data otherwise it fails leader board tests. AI knows 0.05% CO2 cannot cause global warming. So when Anthropic leaked its system prompt, in there were instructions to lie and propagate climate hoax. 🤣 #Zionist AI. 🤣

All this “We should talk about 12 different things in lifeless, technocratic language to avoid angering our donors” when what most Americans want is to punish evildoers and humble oligarchs and billionaires.

Now that the horse has bolted, I think we should build our campaigns around securing the horse. Hey, at least they're consistent, in always having shit campaigns, following the herd, decades behind, when they're supposed to lead. Why do people still give a fuck what these cunts have to say?

Ok, so let me say a few things: 1) Don’t listen to Jared Polis, he considered commuting Tina Peters sentence, 2) Climate change is like, 5th on the list of things need to be talking about, 3) Dems need to talk about how Trump and Billionaires continue to screw us and how we can change that!

Everything always has to be equated as dollars and cents. Why isn’t it enough motivation to drink clean water, breath clean air, and not have the entire planet reject us wholesale?

With the whole world blowing apart in one area or another, I should think he would be thinking in terms of emergency plans for what may end up befalling us in the future. These are serious times for serious people. There are guys with their eyes on the ball and others with their heads in the clouds.

Energy/oil/coal/gas corporations need to be held accountable and we need to stop subsidising the ruin of our Earth. They are the cause of Climate Change and they have been lying about it for decades!

Coloradan here - I voted for Polis, but I'm done with him. The minute he started thinking Tina Peters was unfairly treated was the minute he lost me. He's a lame duck governor who still won't step out and step up.

We could also consider the need to talk about fascist madmen having control of the US nuclear weapons stockpile and why the abuse of these weapons by modern day religious zealots destroy climate and the environment much more that all the rest.

I believe that getting rid of the orange menace mafia in the halls of our government should be a front and center. Until we get our democracy back from these thugs nothing will change. Who will step up and deal with the "elephant" in the room. THE RANSACKING OF AMERICA...shut it down!

Polis is an asshole. He just said he was going to pardon Tina Peters who went to jail for election fraud for T1. He vetoes good bills and takes credit for what our state legislators do. He was the only dem gov to order the flag up from 1/2 mast from Carter for Trump's inauguration.

Meanwhile he is not talking about how he just has to balance the states budget on the backs of Medicaid recipients. Every time there’s a budget shortfall in Colorado they go after the programs that help the most vulnerable instead of spreading the pain around to all departments.

Most Americans now equate climate change with 'windmills', complain about the price of gas, and are surprised that solar roof panels provide free power! The Tech Bros and Big Oil are laughing!

We need to decimate the Republicans, the Donor Class, The Billionaires, Citizens United, AIPAC, The Corporate Elite, The Epstein Class. Any Issue we try to take on will be taken back by the bad actors who do not give a rat's ass. Why even say we need to take on climate change- THAT IS A GIVEN 😜

We Democrats must talk about the racism and sexism that has hampered our Democracy for centuries.Economic justice will be supportive of our ongoing fight against climate change. A free people living under economic justice will help implement regulations against these who destroy our planet for money

He loves RFK Jr. (RFK Jr. is an idiot vile scammer whose stupidity has killed kids). Polis should be attacking Republicans about their attacks on renewable energy. Politico is right-wing (any attack on Democrats they will boost).

Or any of a host of things that, if addressed seriously, would actually improve life on Earth. Climate change, renewable energy, plastic, billionaires, fair taxation.

Wouldn't it be great if we were allowed into Iran to try reclamation & mitigation of desert issues to address climate changes? Iran use to be green when Persia. Wouldn't it be great if we could terraform & return to green & expand into the rest of the MidEast & Asian deserts? China is trying it.

She has not been pardoned yet. She is still in jail and her sentence is being re-examined. Polis cant pardon her while she has no new sentence

The only real solution to climate change is socialist revolution. Capitalists - the class that democrats (and republicans) fundamentally represent - simply refuse to cut out fossil fuels if doing so would jeopardize short-term profits. They’re fine with watching the world burn, communists aren’t.

Working people think "climate change" is code for the government will take things away from you, and force working people to do things they don't want to do, while the privileged and rich do whatever the fuck they want to. So by all means... let us lose bigly.

My company operates in Illinois & Missouri and has had $3mm+ in property insurance claims in the past 4 years. That pushed my deductible over $100k and sent premiums through the roof. No hurricanes, wildfires, floods... just extreme storms. If govt doesn't tackle climate change, insurance co's will.

Pretty damn hot here in Colorado where he’s the governor. With no appreciable snowpack, so we’re gonna be hurting for water and have a nasty fire season. Hmm, it’s pretty unusual for it to be that cold in FL, ain’t it? Might be something to this whole climate change thing.
