Looking for a laptop backpack. I tried the Wirecutter rec (the Troubador) and *really* don't like it (doesn't hold a water bottle, doesn't hold its shape, interior compartments don't organize/separate items well). Who has a laptop backpack they love? (sharing my must-haves in next post)

My must-haves: * slides over rollaboard handle * holds Macbook air + Kindle (nice if it also has a sleeve for iPad) * securely holds water bottle * comfortable shoulder-straps * separate compartments for headphones, notebook, pens, power cords

Dagne Dover has an option but 1) it’s neoprene (idk if that’s a deal breaker; I love that it’s washable) 2) exterior and interior water bottle pockets accommodate slim bottles (e.g Swell style) my Owalas do not fit so I just stow them inside the big pocket. I recommend the larger size.

I have a Timbuk2, which I think should hit all those needs. Mine is kind of old, but this looks about right. Lots of organization, my only complaint is that at this point I want two water bottle holders. Definitely holds a Macbook Pro + iPad comfortably. www.timbuk2.com/products/182...

I remain distraught that Brenthaven stopped making their awesome laptop backpacks. I've not met a better one since. That said, I currently use a Thule Crossover 2 20L that seems to tick most of your boxes. Probably worth a look.
