While we need to update the documentation about community copies, that kind of thing is fully supported. You can have multiple pricing tiers, PWYW pricing, limited numbers for a particular tier, or anything else. Buyers will be notified of PDF updates, unless they opt out of those emails.

They may not want to do it, but if it is discovered it will be done for them in a way they can't revert, and they will be warned. Doing it again can result in further action, like potentially being removed from the platform.

This seems like so much extra work when you could just say โ€œno genaiโ€ and skip the step of creating negative incentives. What you describe here is the exact same level of policing that youโ€™d have to do for a no genai policy.

Similar level of policing yes, but still the same problem. Ultimately, no disclosure means there's no way to know, because it will be uploaded regardless - that's been proven in every marketplace.

'LARP' and 'Wargame' are now both available in the Playstyle taxonomy. Are there any other options that would be a good fit to include alongside them, without getting hyper-specific?

LARPs and wargames fall under the broad RPG banner, so yes - that's entirely allowed! We might need to add a new category for that, so will explore the best way to implement it, but those games are definitely allowed (and encouraged).

How exactly is this different from itch or drivethru? How are you standing out? As someone who's been having trouble with censorship on itch and drivethru for queer things, how is your content policy any different, especially if you're still beholden to the usual Paypros?

This looks really cool! You have a surprisingly permissive genAI policy though, only excluding "fully produced with AI and little to no human involvement." I would feel that a project that used many or even some generated text or images would violate the spirit of "handcrafted ttrpg content."

Fully generated AI content is excluded, and there's also required disclosure from authors for whether they used AI (and how they used it) with a saved opt-out filter when searching. I'd be interested to hear about how you feel this could be implemented differently - open to ideas and evolution!

personally, I think allowing any form of genAI in your store makes itch .io a harder competitor for your site. They also allow genAI content with tagging and a filter. The audience you want to find with "handcrafted ttrpg content" as a tagline will be against the inclusion of any generated content

I agree that a "No AI whatsoever" policy is impossible to enforce (or define!) and would likely discourage self-reporting. Maybe disallowing any *generated* content? PS filters and spellcheck aren't generative, but telling chatgpt "make a picture of a dragon" or "turn my notes into a paragraph" is.

what's the sustainability plan with such a small portion of proceeds going to the site even with POD? how much of that 20% goes to payment processors or lulu? i tried looking at prices through the calculator in-site and was only getting 401 messages. the site is very glitchy on firefox mobile

also - what payment processor will you be using? i might've missed it, but didn't see that included. a lot of the problems folks have been having on other sites are payment processors censoring legal content. will you also be using stripe or paypal or are you using a smaller alternative?

i do genuinely like the idea, and the ui is nice. but i have 28 ttrpgs published so far with more following shortly, so uploading my stuff to a new site would be a massive undertaking. some more clarity would be reassuring when everyone is so pressed for time
