Well that's not good... In the new Twitter Terms of Service , you will grant them licence to use your content to train their machine learning and artificial intelligence models.

Dusted off Twitter. What's up here?

Especially with an exact 30-day notice before it goes into effect, and a forced prompt to acknowledge you’ve been made aware new terms are being implemented. I’ve used these tactics before to cover myself lol

It’s does explicitly say it does or doesn’t, so I would act on the assumption it is retroactive. They’re probably using everyone’s content already, so this new TOS would indemnify them.

The new TOS replaces the California office with the new location in Texas. So, Texas state law governs the new TOS. I don't see anything about force arbitration, but this is Texas...

Wow... just a couple of years ago I was able to use an R script to collect 18,000 tweets every 15 minutes, which meant I could reasonably get 1 million tweets in 17ish hours. For free. No questions asked. Which was great for academic research. How times have changed.

check out the difference between the US and non-US account revokation terms... in the US, twitter can just take it (something about "commercial viability" and, separately, for any reason they want. non-US, they can't.

The content creators aren’t being credited or compensated. If one’s content is driving traffic to Twitter, that mutually benefits both the platform and creator. But the platform wants to use that content to train its AI, which is a selling feature for its premium service.
