@duckaislop.bsky.social I have another one for your list: The devs of 1666: Amsterdam have confirmed that the game currently contains AI-generated assets. They used the classic "temporary assets made their way into the game" excuse and say the assets will be patched out. x.com/PanacheDGame...

How strange. Wasn't this Game the Passion Project of the Guy who was in Charge of Assassins Creed During it's good Games? I Heard He really fought to be able to make this Game. Why devalue it Like this?

God fucking damnit, I was excited for the game too. I thought some of the portraits in the demo looked off, so I went and checked the store page and saw no disclosure there.

Using ai for placeholders beats the entire purpose of what a placeholder is supposed to be. A placeholder is supposed to stand out so it can be spotted and replaced in the final product. Ai attempts by design to do the opposite, it tries to blend in according to specifications. Utterly stupid.

They say "Temporary assets made their way into the game" ...okay but what about the actual key art? Were those temporary assets too or were they just trying to pull a fast one?

Oh come on. Temporary assets are made in a basic way. Not by an A.I. That's why they are temporary. Can dev teams stop making up shit, like at least just own it up if you want to do it. But do be aware not all will like what ya do with your game. Own up to your slop.

The thing about a studio failing to disclose use of genAI in their games is that now I have to ask what else the studio is lying to me about. If you tell me you used genAI I won't buy that game, but if you get caught lying your studio falls off my radar permanently.

IT'S EVERY FUCKING TIME WITH THE SAME FUCKASS EXCUSE. HOW MANY MORE COMPANIES NEED TO GIVE US THESE COPY/PASTE BULLSHIT STATEMENTS BEFORE PEOPLE REALIZE THEY'RE DOING IT ON PURPOSE! These are not fucking accidental. They're INTENTIONAL! Sick of this shit man.

They clearly spammed the generator until it matched the rest of the game. There is no way they didn't do it on purpose. They're just upset that people are noticing and are taking issue with it.

I'm getting real sick of these fucking "Oh there won't be any AI in the final product-" IT'S ALREADY THERE IF YOU'RE USING IT AS A BASE! I'm so glad I rarely buy new games anymore bc at least all the games I've bought pre-AI will never have Gen AI in them.
