I am optimistic but certainly still nervous. In my purple neighborhood in '24 there were many trump signs & flags, today only one remains (in a bar's window). But there are some yard signs for the republican running for governor today. That tells me some of these folks are not into the blue wave.

Optimism is the belief that mankind may yet learn from its mistakes. History, alas, has been rather reluctant to furnish supporting evidence. A wise woman prepares for the worst, hopes for the best, and keeps her champagne beyond the reach of premature celebration.

My polling place vibe check, which has been pretty accurate since 2016, has me uncharacteristically optimistic. But I'll still have both bubbly and rye whiskey standing by on election night.

Lost in much of the "big turnout" talk: MAGA doesn't give a damn about margin of victory. Winning won't be enough for Democrats. They still have to make sure the results get CERTIFIED two months later!!!!

I'm optimistic, too. But cautiously so.I was absolutely convinced Harris would win the presidency on November 5,2024.I had her winning 300 EC votes & I continued to believe that until mid evening, when the roof started falling in. Vibes this time are better. But I won't start counting chickens. Not yet

i swear... gun and ammo sales are soon to explode and it will really freak out republicans while they will resist reporting on or criticize it openly. you can bet that fascists will make moves to prevent the public from having firearms. it is what they do

I googled that episode just to confirm my thought. Dems whipped some MAGA ass that year. Trump took a whoopin'. And that was when he appeared merely inept. Now? Corruption and cruelty are front and center. The American people are gonna beat him like he owes us money. Which he kinda does.

I am absolutely not optimistic. I am too old and jaded. Plus it’s gonna be rough thru Jan and beyond even if all goes as hoped. Sorry, kids.

Exactly, I was so optimistic when I voted for Kamala. The crowds, the excitement, the hope. Only to be crapped on. Not even ONE recount in any swing state.😞

Even winning won’t feel like winning. There will be repercussions. Just means we need to keep fighting even harder. Congress better be ready to work their asses off IMMEDIATELY. We’re tired of this shit and ready to adopt French protest methods. The fucking gloves are coming off, one way or another.

Ah, bummer. I thought this was too good to be true, given everyone who showed up. I heard "November 6th" and I'm like no... it's November 3rd! Here's an easy way to remember it. 😏

Hey, I flew to DC to be present at the election of the first woman president of the USA. I saw TV questions when votes didn't tally. I saw people sobbing on the street, and others shellshocked. To avoid any repeat, I commit to staying in the UK for future elections, in case I jinx it again.
