Josh Shapiro called the McDonald’s employee who reported Luigi Mangione a “hero.” She will NOT get the $10,000 reward money because she called 911 instead of the tip line. By the way, Josh Shapiro got $15,000 in donations from United Healthcare last year. Numbers are fun.

This ☝️ For all their "woe is us" bs, they couldn't even shell out a DIME to catch Luigi. You know who did pay for UHG to get revenge? You & me. That massive manhunt by NYPD & FBI was paid by you & me 😑 Thompson assassinated far more ppl than did Luigi #FreeLuigi

Its not a “donation” its a bung. “a payment made to someone to persuade them to do something, usually something dishonest” Of course politicians denied taking bungs.

From what I gather, this facility produces 155mm artillery ammunition for Ukraine. While I don't really get the whole writing-on-ammo shtick, Ukraine is fighting for its life against an invasion by Russia, and helping them is the right thing to do.

I support Ukraine 🇺🇦 Seen signed ammo pics etc for years... It's the hypocrisy of Shapiro though. Drone vids now are scary azfk 🙁 Skynet Terminator scary azfk 😬 'Human operators' haven't slowed the carnage in Gaza AT ALL. Saw horrific images recently of a child k*lled in a wheelchair by drone 😭🤬

Shapiro also supports human safari in Gaza and Lebanon, which detracts from moral arguments against when Russia does it. This matters if you're looking for international support to isolate Russia.

I saw Fox News this week talking about "the disgusting sympathy of the left for a murderer" the very next segment was about the guy who got away with choking a black man to death. I just started laughing at the absurdity.

So you're more outraged over the CEO being killed than over him causing thousands of people to die agonizing deaths because they were denied medical care for the sake of pure greed. And you think that shooting him in the chest or face would have been better than in the back.

Yeah, and so the guy who was arrested is an alleged murderer and the guy who was murdered allegedly had blood on his hands, profiting from sick and dying people, and Justice is supposedly blind. So what? It sounds like a finely tuned meat grinder, masquerading as the most free country on Earth.

Seems that absolutely everything my parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and teachers taught me about decency, integrity, humility, generosity etc. stopped applying when Reagan came into power.

There's a lot of speculation that maybe the reason that the employee (or was it a customer, we've heard both) can't claim the reward is because no one called it in, that instead the police found him using some illegal surveillance methods that they don't want to admit to.

Either way it's not complimentary to the police - they either bungled it all and got lucky when a Mickey D employee called, or they are doing extraordinary secret illegal surveillance on American people within the borders of the USA 😆

No these police rewards are always full of huge stipulations and requirement’s that if you don’t stick to them exactly you don’t get shit. Then even if you follow them exactly and everything goes your way there is still a huge chance you get jack shit

The only reason why God used comparison / contrast here in this instance is because of United Healthcare's larger involvement in this story. The governor of Pennsylvania apparently received $15,000 from United Healthcare, but the McDonald's employee should get money if a big stink is raised...

So she could have called the tip line who would call local authorities and it would take so long the dude would be long gone, make it make sense, she did a good deed, see something, say something and deserves the reward.

That seems like a crappy reason to avoid paying the person who helped capture him. 911 seems the most urgent vs. going to a phone line taking tips. Also, can someone please explain the “free Luigi” stuff? I get he killed someone whose policies were arguably bad, but I don’t want him running around.

Back in the 90s a guy in London found a messenger back containing £millions in bearer bonds lying on the street. He turned them in. Everyone in the financial community thought he was a total idiot and mocked him endlessly. Even the press and TV joined in. I learned about capitalist ethics from that.

yup, you know it.. i sent inquiry to congressional oversight committee about the whole sham.. If UH is raided now, the will find criminal conduct. I know this , as a fact, not as story w possible outcomes.

Until both sides get out of the pockets of the Billionaires and Capitalists we will never progress as we should. Money needs to be rooted from the political process and lobbying reclassified as bribes since that is exactly what it is. Citizens United needs to be removed.

We have a chance for Senate and Congress in 2026 if the GOP has made enough people mad. But it will be hard because foreign countries and foreign oligarchs will possibly be able to buy political positions.

Anybody’s instinct would have been to call 911. Who has time to go look for a tip line number? What a pathetic excuse! Kind of like the excuses the insurance companies come up with. Pay the McDonald’s employee.

For all the Luigi worshipers, would you really feel comfortable being in the presence of someone who just killed someone? He’s probably still armed. How do you know he’s not going to lose his s*** on others? On you?

So she should have called a tip line, which would cause her tip to go in a pile and be looked at some time in the future? How long do they think people stay at McDs? She called the quickest way to get police action for a fugitive the entire country was looking for. Disgraceful that they won't pay

It would be ironic if this were true. I doubt it is. Still, any reward will be a long time in coming, since the NYPD portion depends on arrest AND conviction. And as to the $50,000 FBI portion that's differently complicated. The reward might also be split between several people, 30 tips were useful.

I know that person didn't call 911 looking for a reward, but isn't it ironic how they play the game?I don't see Luigi as a hero, I see him as a symptom of an industry that still no one is talking about, except maybe Michael Moore. Guns, for-profit healthcare, and big pharma are killing this country.

Yep. And now the incoming administration wants to get rid of vaccines so people end up needing more healthcare they can't afford and using more big pharma products to deal with the diseases that vaccines easily prevent from spreading.

It is amazing how this country's gears have run fairly smoothly. Don't get me wrong, it has its issues. But we're about to find out that one little chink in the chain is gonna throw this entire thing right off the rails

Reminds me of people don't get their medical bills covered by insurance, NOT because the procedures were medically inappropriate and not because the procedures weren't medically necessary but ONLY because they didn't get pre-approval. A pencil-pushing power-tripper's NON-REASON to deny.

Another made up scenario. Retro authorizations has been in existence forever. C’mon. Every hospital and doctor’s office knows to check to see if insurance will cover a procedure or if pre-auth is required. They definitely want to get paid.

I spent most of the time my spouse at the time was in the hospital making sure the right people were called to get the right pre-auths for every procedure and diagnostic they wanted to run. The hospital wasn't doing this. Sitting in a hallway in phone hell trying to get approvals.

Sometimes they are stupid with their pre auths. Broke hip last year, was doing so well they got pre with for 2 week accelerated rehab, was eval'd by program and accepted, then they gave my spot to somebody with "pull" so then they wanted to send me to nursing home rehab.

Told hospitalist MD, insurance wouldn't approve that, after approving açcelerated rehab and ins didn't. Discharged home. Refused home PT/OT since ortho MD told me I was already where most people were 8 weeks after surgery and at followup ortho visit could see if PT needed. (total hip replacement)

We now know which of our institutions are serious about protecting our Democracy, our freedoms. Money power influence acceptance are touchstones of our media environment currently, and the quiet acceptance of racism fascism and blind hatred is ok with some people. This is not normal by any means.

Well said, EC. It didn't USED to be normal. Now T gets away with shit EVERY DAY that would have impeached any other president. He couldn't do it without a lapdog media that failed to call out election fraud.

The seeds of our current situation were planted back in the Reagan admin. It was put on steroids once Obama was elected. The modern-day version of the white citizen councils needed a craven spokesman to carry their waters of deceit and propaganda. Trump knew he was above the law. That was the deal.

I’ll go with team Josh Shapiro any day of the week. If you want to talk numbers talk about the bribes Trumps DC hotel was taking in or the hundreds of millions Ivanka and Jared made while working for Trumps WH including $2 billion from the Saudi Investment Fund in exchange for US intel #keepITreal
