I threw my glasses across the room last night. Never done that before. I recognized my own rage. I felt helpless in that moment. I feel helpless today after watching our supposed top journalist fall silent to a dictator last night. Not one peep. Silence. I felt a crack emerge in our democracy.

I worked and saved for more than fifty years to be able to pay my way when I retired. So I’m careful with my money and I don’t ever have the urge to destroy my own things. However, I could be caught wishing bad, maybe even very bad, things to happen to those goddam stupid people of whom you speak.
