Such an underrated film. A fine science-fiction film.

Easy as cake.

One of my all time favourites. Of all the space movies, this may be the MOST space movie. The whole thing is about the challenges of operating in space, and accuracy is pretty good overall. One of the best depictions of humans in deep space.

Yeah, what an amazing sequel. The pen sequence blew my mind. I can hear the flick!

I heard a quip that it was so realistic that with inflation it’d now be cheaper to fly to Jupiter.

It's a great film, much more grounded and realistic than 2001 (which was of course epic and ground breaking) It's a shame noone has thought of making 2061 as yet, the book is excellent.

I did use the qualifier “probably”. 😉 Rama is certainly a contender.

The way the space sequences were composed and shot, plus its soundtrack music approach, when watched in a decent cinema made us feel so small and fragile. It was great. I only wish it had preserved Clarke's ensemble comedy touch (I read the novel before the movie was released).

I've actually never seen 2010. I should take advantage of it if they show it sometimes somewhere in London.

2001 was so...very...very...slow. 2010 was a good addition with faster pacing and an engaging story.

Always loved 2010. Great tone, pacing, and enjoyable characters. Was never a fan of 2001 beyond its technical achievements, but am glad it led to 2010 happening.

Any movie / tv show with Roy Scheider is a great movie...

I never heard of this movie .. oddly .. seems like it would have been right up my alley. Will try to find it now!
